Packers put Aaron Rodgers on IR, Tanking Effective Immediately

Very logical move.  Logic seems to be lost on the faithful here.  I told you guys they would play Rogers because he represented their only hope of postseason.  Now that postseason is out of reach, you don't risk injury for no good reason.

Rivera is not on board with this of course, (last season)

Why would you risk Rodgers injuring himself even worse when there’s nothing to play for now? The freaking Huddle would explode if Rivera told Cam to play when he was hurt and the post-season was out of reach.

This literally happened last season

Yall keep comparing him to Cam, but Rodgers had surgery and was out 8 weeks. Cam was playing on a non-surgical arm. Aaron can play.

We're comparing him to cam because both aren't 100% and the playoffs are out of reach. Cam shouldn't have played and should have had his surgery earlier

Nobody is 100% at this time. If Cam had surgery and came back, he would have refused to go on IR the last 2 games

I know that nobody is 100% at this time but cam was clearly injured because he had surgery after the season. I think you're missing the point

Let's just say as I alluded in my title, the Packers know there's a difference between going 7-9 and 9-7 in this draft. You're looking at top 15 to 23-25ish

If I remember correctly.....

Cams injury could not get any worse (if he continued playing) and could possible heal itself without surgery during the offseason. I'm sure Cam was all in on that as well as the staff....not a good comparison

as they say...it's only minor surgery when it's not on you.

    • I think he's gone, and rightfully so, if he turns in another losing record. The "talented roster," regardless of how true or not, is a double-edged sword. If the roster is so much improved now from 202X then why are you still producing losing seasons? On one hand, maybe that's what needs to happen. Have the GM hire the new coach, and then have the new coach pick his guy to run his system. That is typically how it works in the NFL. Not the forced inheritance deal we have had in place.
    • Hinging on Brooks to be our spark...be good if it happens... but not holding my breath....RB next draft. Morgan gambled...it would be a 2 year payoff if thing happened.
    • Only way Canales is fired is if we are attrocious everywhere....  defense /special teams and offense..  There are enough "questions" on if BY9 is the guy that ownership wouldn't fire the coach for "just" mid qb play.  Especially with as talented a roster that has played "well enough" to win some tough football games and hang in there against the top tier of the NFL ...(mostly).   Now total team suckage..yeah .. but I don't see that happening.
