Carolina Panthers Offseason Thread

I think most reasonable fans can assume we have about 0.01% chance to beat NO, so let's move on to the offseason discussion(please, please, please, please let me eat crow on this).

We have to replace an owner and potentially an entire front office. What are your expectations for our offseason improvements(draft, free agency)?

I assume we’ll sign and draft a bunch of people who don’t play WR

That is a big fear of mine. I still truly believe LT is a much bigger hole to fill but WR is a definitely a clear #2 priority. I am not sure our front office, current or future, will see it as that.

If good Cam shows up, we can beat the Saints.   If the Cam that played today shows up, we lose by 40 only because the Saints took pity on us.

I am not going to blame Cam for today or next week. That dude has literally saddled up with one of the worst offensive rosters in the playoffs and made chicken salad out of chicken poo. Not to say he is blameless but he is as close to a non-Russell Wilson one man show as there is in the NFL currently.

    • My take on Darnold was always that he was fine with a good offensive line but would wilt under pressure with a poor line (Jets and Panthers). Seattle began the year w/ a pretty bad oline and they improved somewhat but Darnold is showing he is a pretty good qb. Imagine what the Panthers would be today with Darnold and without Bryce Young and all the wasted draft picks to get him.
    • Similar situation but that would be a better version than what we currently have. Sam isn't a franchise QB but he is a good bridge guy. Either Seatle finds a young guy to groom or they have hit their ceiling. They 100% can't put it on Sam's shoulders and expect to win but the team needs to carry less with him at QB to win vs what this team has to do with Bryce.
    • to me the post would suggest Sam Darnold was good last night because Seattle won in a wild game.   Which is what we do with Bryce Young.   Sam Darnold didn't play well last night.  Which is how he trends, goes to a new team.....looks okay and becomes classic Sam Darnold down the stretch.  Last 6 or 7 weeks old bad Sam is coming out a lot (and then a weird Atlanta game mixed in lol).
