Bringing Back Chud Would Be The Best Option.

Imagine that offense next year with Chud as OC and if we get a good draft

QB: Cam

RB: Nick Chubb, McCaffrey, Stewart

WR: Funchess, Samuel, Byrd, James Washington/Calvin Ridley, Shepard

TE: Olsen, Hayden Hurst, Dickinson

OL: Moton, Norwell, R. Kalil, Turner, Williams

This should be mouthwatering to us Panther's fans

Just now, Crazydounut said:

As an OC he was stuck with a bad/average defense and the team was still young

He was HC for the God damn Browns. He had no chance there

He's had one winning season as a coordinator or coach - the 2007 Browns.

Every single other year as HC or coordinator has been no better than 8-8. The guy sucks. I don't envy Indianapolis's offense.

Cam's  rookie year with Chud we'd have won a lot of games if our defense hadn't been one of the worst in Panthers history. Cam would have what should have been a game sealing touchdown only for our defense to get torched last second. Chud's situational play calling was a problem though. 3rd and 1 or less on an important drive and let's call a 40 yard passing play. But poo shula's is just as bad sometimes. Personally I'd like to see Cam in a Shanahan style offense...lots of bootlegs, rollouts, misdirection and they move the pocket a lot all of which should play to Cam's strength and not just leave him 5 to 7 yards back in the same spot all like a sitting duck or power run him up the gut on 2nd and 12 on our side of the 50. Asking for a lot there I know

    • He has attempted 8 shootout goals in his NHL career and made 1. He is among our worst SO guys on the entire roster in terms of career stats.
    • Against Miami, the Panthers were behind by 17 in the 2nd quarter facing a 4th - 5. Young completed a 21 yard pass and they went on to score 7 on that drive. Then in the 4th, down by 4, they faced a 4th - 5 and again, he completed a 17 yard pass and they went onto score a TD for the win. He also accounted for 2 of the 3 TD's.  As I said, he got them in that mess and no doubt, Rico gets credit as well, but missing on either of those 4th down conversions hands the ball over and results in 1 or 2 less TD's giving them a loss. As you said though, that's just a small quibble. The real question is how does the FO see it?  I am guessing they see it as something to build on. I think most peope here see it as a total loss and fully expect the FO to see it that way as well. Time will tell.
    • Kochetkov is just too streaky. TBD if Freddie is doing that too. Freddie is the more reliable goalie over his career. The Bussi kid looks like he could be a solid #2 eventually.  Just need to figure out the #1 guy. Same as almost every year. It's not talent, it's consistency and being able to step up in the playoffs.
