Our O-lineman are getting a lot of praise, yet we are terrible at running the ball?

We could have the Cowboys OLine and not be able to run the ball with how predictable our running plays are. When teams know the play and stack the box accordingly its not hard to stop

Wrong. Good running games run when they want to, regardless of predictability and defensive alignment.

It very much due to the read option. It's not a traditional running scheme.

One of the least flashiest things to analyze is the run blocking abilities of interior linemen hence why this doesn't get a ton of attention.  I'd be curious for someone to do a deep dive on Norwell and Turner's run blocking.

We also tend to bunch up inside too much.  Our RB's run into far too much traffic to be anything but average.  Oftentimes, the blocks are there, but there are so many defenders that there just isn't a gap to run through.  And the zone read gives LB's and DB's time to break off and get into position to stop/limit runs to the outside.

I think if we spread things out more, it would really open things up for our backs.  The biggest difference between CMC and Kamara is the space they have to work in.  But as long as we keep the same scheme, we likely won't ever have a dominant run game from our actual RB's.

The offensive scheme is stale.  Opposing teams know what's coming.  Superb owl 50 is a perfect example.  The great teams/coaches change things up on a regular basis.

Added a few wrinkles with CMC but nothing "evolutionary".  Injuries to WR's have hurt but even more so because the game glans haven't adjusted to the lack of speed and the inability to take the top off.  Frustrating to see them stick with the same stuff even when it stops working, then simply point to execution.  Yes, players have to execute but good coaches put them in a position to be successful.

Cam covers up a lot of bad coaching but he has limits throwing the ball due to inconsistent accuracy.  Cam has to be great to win games and that's asking a lot of any player week in and week out.

Norwell, Turner, and even Williams seem to be getting a lot praise this year from various sites, yet without Cam we are bottom 5 in rushing yards and bottom 3 in ypc

In every Mccaffrey and Stewart thread everyone blames the line for their lack of production, yet everyone wants us to back up the brinks truck for a gaurd.

So what is it? Do our RB suck or is our line overrated

When the defense has about a 90% certainty what the Carolina offense's play is going to be knowing Carolina's down/distance and formation, its difficult for ANY player to (as Ron-Ron likes to complain about) "execute".

Its hard enough playing against NFL defensive players when they *don't* know what's coming.

I disagree that Cam needs to be great for us to win. We won 7 times when he had a QB rating of under 90 and 5 games where he was under 60% completion. He just can't be terrible like he was in 4 of our 5 losses with ratings of 43.8, 48.5, 54.9 and 31.5.

Rating are misleading because it ignores yards on the ground, doesn't account for INT's created by receivers, etc. but okay I'll alter it to say Cam has to be great for Carolina to beat quality teams, at the very least, Cam has to be great for the offense to effective.
