Replacement Possibilities

Well if we went Chud we already have 2 pass catching running backs in Samuel and CMac.

just need another tightend like a Shockey.

Chud is lights out when he has those pieces— not so much when he doesn’t.

his offense revolves around the tightends and pass catching running backs.

notice when we got Tolbert and rid of Shockey our offense plummeted.

same with other places.

we would have to commit to personnel that supports his offense or not sniff him.

Many may not remember that Frank Reich was our first QB.  #14

Wonder if he had good times when he was here before.

I like what Philly was doing with Wentz so it would be fun to see what he could do with Cam.

His name is definitely on the rise.

As a Polian hire, he might not have great memories of JR, but might want to be part of the new Carolina Panthers.

I would be happy with Caldwell here after what he did in BAL & IND. McAdoo for the same reason....some guys are better coordinators than HC.

As for Shurmur, it may not be as stale and WC offense as previously thought. It looks like Chip Kelly rubbed off on him a bit and his style combines the spread w/ some RPO to it. With the personnel we have, quicker routes to set up the run game seems ideal rather than the time consuming deeper routes.

The Vikings with Case under center had the #11 in total yards and passing yards, 7th in rushing and 10th in total points scored.

Cam + CMC + Samuel + Olsen + Funch + FA WR (Lee, Richardson, Watkins) in a uptempo system could be interesting. As long as Cam stays in the shotgun, it should play to his strength.

Shurmur has a strong Rivera connection but he's already got an OC job and is getting head coach interviews.

A lateral move would seem highly unlikely.

How about Chris Wenke ?  Worked with Cam when he graduated from college getting him ready for the pros.

Very little experience, never worked with Rivera and got fired from only QB coaching job to date after just two years..

Don't see it.

Who is a Pat Shurmur disciple or his OB coach there?

if we haven’t hired by the weekend that means we might be looking, there or at one of the other playoff staffs.

Scott Turner, Norv's son, and he used to work here just a few years ago under Rivera. Plus Zimmer fired his dad.

Wouldn't surprise me at all to see him back in some capacity.
