I mean, Ron played him with a bum shoulder for 3 games in 2016.

You think he was gonna let a little thing like a concussed brain stop him from trotting Cam back out there?

And the NFL doesn't get off the damn hook on this either.  If the NFL wants to insist that Cam WAS concussed, then they damn well need to admit their shitty referees missed yet ANOTHER shot to Cam's head without throwing a flag.  And I don't think the defender was coming in for an intentional head shot either but, according to the NFL rules, THAT DOESN'T (or shouldn't) MATTER.

Concussions only counts when it fits there narratives.

The NFL could fix things like this very easy.

You could have longer timeouts for when it’s a quarterback change like that, allow a 1 minute timeout to let him throw a few times. That position is so critical that it should warrant a change like that.

then there would be no shananagans.

the Rooney rule is also a stupid rule. It causes more drama and embarrassment than any other rule out there. People are going to hire who they want, interviewing politics be damned.

how humiliating is it to have someone called for several interviews just to be a token?

Damn Wilks should charge like $1000 an interview plus per diem. It’s just stupidity to serve as lipstick on a pig.

the solution to teams refusing to hire qualified black coaches is not to make them stop having to interview them

Ok, well if you want to have your time wasted that’s on you but I would imagine most black coaches get pissed when they find out they only interviewed to meet a quota and never had a shot. These types of rules never work as intended

And what would your solution be?

Maybe there should be coaching symposiums and requirements that owners attend and meet all the future candidates?

maybe there should be testing like a wonderlic and a combine for coaches?

i have no idea how you force owners to hire someone they don’t want to hire except getting them more comfortable with unknown candidates.

i just know that having someone go on 5 interviews that are complete shams just to fulfil a requirement for public lip service is ridiculous and humiliating. It also cheapens the intent of the rule.
