Sanu a margainal WR2?? Man, Sanu is a beast, He's very similar to Muhsin Muhammed in my opinion.

I'd like to do a deal with Funchess now while the getting is good, I think Funchess will be as good as Sanu, which in my opinion is worth hanging onto as we don't have any other better options at the moment and if 2019 has better draft/FA WR prospects we can pick up a legit #1 beside him then.

I'd extend Shaq and if he doesn't workout as TD's replacement switch him to safety possibly?

Indifferent with Williams.

WR2's don't carry offenses. And if he's "marginal," his numbers are better than any WR2 the Panthers have dressed in 3 years.

Nonetheless, Sanu had more receptions than Funchess, only 100 fewer yards, 3 fewer TDs this year. And he's a #2. And Sanu has out produced every WR2 on the Panther's roster over the past 3 seasons. And yes, I'd take Sanu tomorrow as a WR2 to replace anyone on the Carolina roster.

Of course, Funchess has more upside- he hasn't been in the league for 6 seasons already.

More receptions and fewer yards should be a red flag for an X or Y receiver.  Furthermore,  when you're playing with the likes of A.J.  Green and Julio Jones,  that makes things infinitely easier.

Funchess has more upside because he has more upside.  He was a better receiver this season,  essentially his first season in earnest after transitioning. Sanu has had his fair share of earnest opportunities for the last four years.

Funchess will improve.  Sanu is what he is.

Funchess as the Panthers WR1 is not in the same league as Sanu, and he's a WR2 in Atlanta. Sanu is a legit big-body WR who has more than proven his worth in this league. Funchess wouldn't be a WR1 on any other team in the league and I'd let him play a full season as the #1 in a contract year to see if he live up to the hype.

Shaq has shown flashes of being a very good LB and I think he gets a 5th year option as does Worley.

Worley can't get the 5th year option homie.  Only 1st round picks

Uh, nothing? If all 3 have monster seasons next year that warrant big contract extentions, then I'd file that under a good problem to have. Considering the positions they play, it probably means we had a damn good season. I don't want Hurney doing anything this season he doesn't have to, namely signing our draft picks and dealing with the pending free agents on our current roster.

Williams: Not this year, but there will be money to sign him next season.  Keep the good OL--Norwell this year, Williams next year. Next year, you will not have Ryan and Matt Kali salaries, nor will you have Thomas Davis.  WIth Turner, Norwell, and Williams locked up, the OL is young and solid.  Moton can try LT, or we could consider moving Turner to C (in 2019) and Moton to RG....Lotta options. .

Funchess -- why not wait until next year to see how he fits the new Norv system?  He got better, but I am not going to say he stepped up.

Thompson- seeing that TD is entering his last year and Thompson is a hybrid LB who can cover a WR, he is worth the $$.  Lock him up.

Play funfun out. Not sold he will be a #2b type. He has moments but to inconsistent.

Shaq is a must. IMO you wrap him up now. Why? He has only had limited playing time and honestly that helps drive the price down. Open market, I think people drive it way up. I think most teams can see he can start and be a really good/great player. Just not some joker SS/lb. He is right in the mold of TD, and like TD his role is LB. think he shines once TD hangs them up.

DW. This is the risky pick. Might get him cheaper now than next year if he plays well again. See Remmers vikings deal. Might get him for less now but he could also turn in to a pumpkin and be a turnstile like 2016. Personally I think he is a better guy to keep than Norwell. DW isn't a better a player, but i think DW can become a better cap value than Norwell who should get top 2-3 dollar as a guard. Think DW can get middle of the road RT money and seriously outperform it. DW has top 3 RT potential. This comes to what the coaches/FO see in him.
