Williams took an absolutely horrible angle on it, though; then took out Crawley like a bowling pin.

What a total disaster.

Yeah, I think Williams mistimed the hit and realized that if he actually hit him, it would have been PI, so he changed his trajectory.  Unfortunately for him (and VERY fortunate us) he blew up the only other Saint that may have had a chance to stop Diggs before the TD.  Has to suck knowing that not only did you whiff on the hit, but you also blocked your own guy springing Diggs for the touchdown.  Would have been better with PI.  It would have still been a pretty long field goal, but they would have at least had a chance.

Great eye Scot.

Also, not only was it great awareness by Diggs, but also great balance. He had to be anticipating a hit there. Most WRs wince up and fall to the ground. Diggs maintained balance and put his hand on the ground to take it to the house. Our WRs would have stumbled over their own feet. Hell our WRs wouldn't have even caught it lol Great play by Diggs.

It was similar to the Cam fumble in the superbowl. Cam was stuck in a decision where he didn't know if the ball was going to get knocked back or not and just stopped in time. Williams was stuck in a decision where he get there too early and didn't know whether to just tackle him for DPI or try to bat it down.

Good analogy.

Man, that has to go down with like “the catch” as the most lucky bizarre play. What a great day for a no body underdog like Case Keenum.

so many people have dog piled him. When it was brought up that he might play in the Super Bowl people laughed and said never.

well 1 more hour of playing like that and wanting to win that badly and he does.

fug the Saints—- and the Heretic they rode in on.

Like Fox007 said, there was still enough time for a FG.  Diggs was right at the sideline at the NO 35, and he caught the ball with 5 seconds left.  Most likely, the tackle would have taken him out of bounds and Minn. would have had a shot at a FG.  Not a sure thing by any means, but there is a better than average chance that NO would have still lost.

Well a seasoned, smart veteran safety would have approached him from the sideline, allowed him to catch the ball and drive him towards the middle of the field with tackle.....There was plenty of room to do it. Diggs wasn't RIGHT on the sideline when he caught it.....Just bad defense. Drop 8, guard sidelines, and keep everything in front of you.....Seems simple right???....."That's why they play the game"
