Yes, Ron Rivera.  Next question.

Don't believe me?  Dig up his press conference after Cam was drafted.

You guys are desperate to make Hurney seem competent.

It amazes me how people blame Rivera for everything bad under Gettleman, and praise Rivera for everything good under Hurney.

You actually think Hurney would overrule Ron?  Child please, he was selecting his QB, not Hurneys.

So you think that the buck didn't stop with Hurney?  Come on man,  you know better than that. And,  by the way,  it's not like Rivera has some superlative record at scouting. Scot will attest to that.

I'm not blaming anyone for anything.  I'm just pointing out facts.  But facts are not welcome here.

Facts?  Show me your facts?  You have a quote from Rivera stating that he picked Cam, and that Hurney didn’t?  Or a similar quote from Hurney?

Maybe you need to understand the very definition of the word “facts.”

This.  No way a first year head coach with no proven scouting record, especially on offense, which he had little to no experience, is dictating a franchises number 1 pick over the scouting department and GM.  Just laughable.

Like I said, watch the presser.  You are trying to tell me that a first time head coach was going to let Hurney (the guy that tried to trade for Pickle's) pick the QB he was going to tie his career to?

Riiight

All Hurney did was call in the pick.

    • I agree but he honestly has gotten better about this. Used to be he’d do it like 4-5 times a game, now it’s like 2-3. Overall I’m incredibly happy with his game, his D has been solid and when he is playing his role he’s a solid scorer and one of the few guys who can consistently finish at the rim and provide that threat. Plus he’s electric and LaMelo loves him. Going into the season I was sure he would just be a stop gap here but now I’m reconsidering and could see him continue to be a “core” piece here. Obviously not on the level of the other starters but he is an important cog for this team. We felt his missed presence during his and Moose’s suspensions.
    • Philly will be a bigger challenge than the Knicks were IMO. George and Embiid are back, not sure about Maxey but Embiid alone is a nightmare matchup for us and Moose. We’ve never really done well against him. Celtics added Tatum but honestly not sure they’re all that much better with him right now than they were when we whooped them a few weeks ago. We should be able to at the very least split these 2, hopefully take both.
