I just wonder if he doesn't have it between the ears to play safety. A safety typically has to make a lot more checks and reads than a CB. CBs tend to be the better athletes, but safeties tend to need to be smarter football players.

Me too. Oh man... as bad as it would suck for us to see Peppers spurn us and sign elsewhere, it wouldn't come close to N.O. losing Brees.

Won't disagree with what you said about playing safety, but I have no idea of the mental capacities of Worley.  However, his alma mater is not known for producing scholar athletes.

There's a reason why Worley was temporarily benched for Seymour. No Seymour wasn't great by any means, but he wasn't a huge dropoff from Worley simply because a huge dropoff from Worley is practically impossible on an NFL roster.

I was not under the impression he had a cannon--no deep outs etc.  Maybe I am wrong, but he seemed like a QB with average are strength in college.  I need to do more homework before sticking to that---did not know Mayock said that.  Maybe this is where I get my supposition:

Bottom Line

Pocket quarterback with good size who has shown consistent improvement as a passer. Rudolph is more of a downfield, play-action passer than a quarterback who can win with precision and arm strength. He's a capable field reader who has the ability to operate with timing which will be important since his arm can be dull at times. Rudolph could be an early backup with the potential of becoming an average to below average starter in the league.  (NFL.com)

Yeah, I'm just speculating as to why we wouldn't have considered a move to safety. It just seemed pretty obvious to me that Worley's measurables and skill set seemed to fit better at safety than at CB so I have to think that there has to be some reason why we wouldn't have considered it given our need at safety.

Yeah, I think he had two good deep ball WRs not that he was necessarily good at throwing the deep ball. Go and watch some James Washington highlights. He's catching a ton of those deep balls in heavy traffic and a lot of them require him to make some major route adjustments or slow down to wait for the ball. The slants in particular are on the money.
