5 mil to Torrey Smith is no big deal. It's not.

Even then, makes no sense to give someone who’s 29 and declining 5 million.

Of course, addressing could be the same thing as Gettleman- through the draft. Gettleman addressed the position with 3 guys in 2016. What makes you think Marty will have any better luck?

WE CAN CUT SMITH ANYTIME WITHOUT REPERCUSSION.

Y’all love using total salary when it isn’t gman’s players.

You’re embarrassig yourself by hyping up Smith lmao. Do I have to bring up the 8 times he dropped balls over a span of 8 games?

Where have I hyped Smith? I'm not expecting big stats from him. I'm expecting him to fill a specific niche that we're sorely lacking.

Saca......

It's okay to be wrong. Just because you were horribly wrong about Shepard and Johnson before they even wore a Panthers uniform doesn't mean you have to declare Torrey Smith a washed up bum before he even suits up for us.

Lacking? He’s literally the same type of player as Byrd and Samuel. Not exactly new, except crowding the position really.

Smith is not proven. Don’t try and kid that lol.

I mean if you want to look at how many times he’s made bad drops, I implore you to do so.

(I promise - it’s not pretty)

yall cried when I said Russell Shepard had potential, but you gonna defend a 29 year old scrub with bad hands?

The huddle is so weird

As I recall,  I was the most vocal of a few on Shepard,  but I wasn't crying,  just giving facts. You had overwhelming support of your position.

This time is a little different.  I don't believe anyone is "defending" this move as much as they see it trying to make much ado about nothing.  Ginn, Wallace and Smith are similar receivers, but Smith is younger with presumably a little more left in the tank. Plus,  his contract isn't guaranteed, as relatively little as it is.

If he sucks, I'll admit it and move on.

But whereas previously we've signed WR's who had literally accomplished nothing of note previously (Underwood, Shepard, C. Johnson) and expected them to put up big numbers with us, guys like Ted Ginn and Torrey Smith have actually accomplished something in their respective careers.

All I'm saying is, chill and see what happens.
