Good point. Any asset you buy, obviously your optimical goal is to buy at the lowest price possible. Grocery shopping, car shopping, NFL franchise shopping. Same concept lol. But who knows, maybe Tepper has a number in mind and doesn’t see the value if it surpasses that #. Hard to tell. For me personally, I hope kestenbaum doesn’t win the bid

Possible. Again though, it's not getting any cheaper.

Kinda wonder if maybe the NFL wants Tepper to be an owner more than Tepper himself wants it.

And honestly, maybe he just doesn't wanna leave the Steelers to be part of the Panthers all that badly.

Ouch!...but a definite possibility.  If you have billions, what REALLY keeps you up at night?  Are we really all that desirable?

Like ours?

Richardson isn't as bad as guys like Dan Snyder, but it'd be a stretch to call him one of the better ones given the team's inconsistent performance...not to mention "jeans day".

I was just speaking in general. JR is not as bad as what some people thought. The Panthers had more success and was consistently more relevant than a large portion of the other NFL teams under his watch. Yeah we weren’t the Patriots but who are.

That’s what I’m saying. Plus owning an NFL franchise sort of defines a person. Easy for me to say as a huge NFL/sports fan, but if I had 12 billion dollars I’d be the first man in line to own an NFL franchise

And???

Debt collection practices in this country have a pretty bad vibe to the average American with debt.  Not saying Navarro was part of the debt collection guys that outsourced their callers to India and then lied and scammed their way into profit, but it happens.

I think the Rooneys see the Panthers like a little brother, and that relationship could be seen as a positive.

Tepper might not see us that way.

You don't just make 12 billion overnight, putting that much of your net worth into one thing is going to done with extreme caution, especially with the political turmoil that was the NFL last year.

Along with CTE and player safety issues

If Kestenbaum wins, I'm going to go ahead and prepare myself for the end of my NFL, specifically Panthers, fandom...  because he will certainly move them to Toronto as soon as he can.

And if the NFL allows Kestenbaum to win it, I'll be even more pissed.  I don't like that Navarro is linked to shady business practices, but I'd much rather have him or Tepper as the new owner, otherwise this franchise is as good as gone.

I also have to wonder if another factor holding things up is if JR is trying to vet which guy holds similar values/political leanings to his own before deciding who he wants to sell it to...  a guy who would still keep the semblance of "family" within the organization and wouldn't allow players to express themselves politically.  This is also the reason why I think we still haven't looked into Eric Reid yet.

I have also been wondering if part of the hold up is that JR knows a guy like Kestenbaum will move the team eventually and he is working channels to try to ensure one of the guys who will keep it in the Carolinas will step up instead.  It almost makes me think the hold up is because Kestenbaum is the most aggressive bidder but JR is holding out for that reason, and if so, good for JR.  We might despise a lot of things he has done, but he has always made it clear that he wanted the team here permanently and he has never wavered from that stance.
