Westworld Season 2

That the scene takes place decades ago, soon after Arnold and Ford created Dolores and the newer version of the hosts that exist now. That it foreshadows what she will become, and that Arnold saw it even then, and decided he needed to do something drastic to stop it.

Having read Datawire's comment, I'm starting to lean more toward the interview taking place on the other end of the timeline, rather than the beginning, with fully self-aware Dolores interviewing the host version of her creator, after the events of this season have taken place.

Just don't get the real Bernard/Arnold  suggestion.

Ford implanted Arnold's real-life memories into Bernard's head messing around with DNA in his image is my take. I think this is especially significant given the moment Bernard (Arnold) tells Dolores about his water-themed nightmare at the beginning of the episode.

I also think we might be dealing with multiple Bernards. He appeared to be wearing two different suits in the premier. Then again could be nothing.

this show just makes my head hurt.

biggest thing I have been thinking about is what the fact Bernard apparently has real human DNA means about the puzzle/story we have already been told.

I still don't feel like we know the who is real and who isn't aspect of this show yet.

that is what I was kinda getting at.  I do not think there is 1 Bernard.  Gets into my other post about the DNA carrying Bernard that was introduced in the last episode.   My current theory is Bernard/Arnold created their own version of Bernard/Arnold.   I mean we already know Ford's creation of Bernard has access to a "Bernard" diagram?

and sometimes I think Arnold was a robot to begin with and the first actual example of real AI.

and sometimes I think Ford was the last man on Earth.

and sometimes I think I should quit watching shows like this

Think I am going to wait for the whole season to come available so I can watch it back to back without waiting a week. Hard enough to follow without waiting 7 days between episodes.

That is actually a great idea if you can hold off until the whole season come available.  There's not much I enjoy on TV so eventually boredom would win and I would watch the episodes available.

I like the everything we are watching is the game theory...

Almost all characters we know are hosts - and we are watching a beta test of the new game in which the whole structure is under collapse with the multiple plot lines  being tested out.  Players need to experience the Man in black, fords, Bernard/Arnolds character arcs to get the full concept of the game story, hence it plays out in this time jumping structure.

We have nothing to confirm an actual what we consider human death to be any different then a host death.

if you wait and watch it 9 weeks from now, I can't tell you how wrong you are today.

This time of year it won't be hard to do with the nice weather, longer days, and stuff to do outside of the house. Now if it were January or Feb, that might be a different story. I like Westworld but it's not on the level of GoT or Breaking Bad for me so I am in no rush to see it.

I watched the first season after all the episodes were released within a few days and it was still hard to follow (but enjoyable). Decided I am going do that again for season 2 so I should probably stay out of this thread.

I'm super interested to see where the rest of the series goes, in all the timelines.

Episode two was really cool because of the business decisions made, and how the idea of hosts was presented.

Super cool.  It's kind of scary too, to be honest with you.  How much further will we go before our creations take over for us?

I agree. I think the show is progressing nicely and getting more interesting and not less. I also don't think it's too much to keep track of. It jumps a lot but does so in a way that doesn't confuse me at all. However, I have little idea what to expect as there is so much that hasn't been told yet. Also Floki will have something horrible to do to the hosts.

I like the structure of episode two better - where the timelines were apparent.  I have a fear that multiple timelines could be used as a "gotcha" reveal to the viewer but episode two did not seem to be trying to trick the viewer, it was simply using the multiple times (which were very apparent to the viewers) to move the story forward.
