Lineville Gorge is in the Pisgah National Forest, in McDowell County, which is the third largest Wilderness area in the US. The Cherokee called it Eeseeoh which translates to " River of Many Cliffs" It was named after white settlers in the area who were scalped by the Cherokee in 1766. In 1952, it became protected when a Rockefeller purchased the land, then in 1964 it became part of the "Wilderness Act".

Can take that or longer, though sometimes it's relatively fast.  The bigger ones tend to be quicker.

The fight in south Charlotte thing was a joke referring to that igor fool.

The Linville Gorge is in Burke County, not McDowell. The Burke/McDowell line roughly follows old NC 105 and the Gorge is on the east side (Burke side) of 105. North Cove is on the west side (McDowell side).
