N/P---Saints trying to trade up for future QB?

Would have to assume this would be for Mayfield or Rosen if one of them slips out of top 5. Hear Payton loves them both.

It would cost them the 1st and 3rd this year, and 1st next year to move up into the top 10.

 

I hope they do it.

Jackson may be the Pats new QB since they have been having strong thoughts on the kid and seem to think he will be the successor to Brady. Pats have had visits to Gillette Stadium for private workouts a lot of talking to him. Pats may trade up to get him to with the extra picks they have acquired.

It was a huge gamble at the time and a fairly expensive one. No one knew if he was going to be the Brees he became. When he left San Diego, he was a good QB but that doesn't always translate to a new team. And they did have to go after him pretty aggressively to make sure the Dolphins didn't snag him.

You have to remember that the Saints then were the same kind of trainwreck the Dolphins are today. His decision to go to New Orleans may have very well marked the beginning of a long nightmare time in Miami. 

But back then, that was money thrown to the winds in hopes of a miracle. They got that miracle and it seems like a bargain in hindsight.

Cheifs just did it. Iirc Saints liked Mahomes too.

Jackson sitting behind Brees for a year or two with SP coaching him up scares me a bit. If I were a Saints fan it'd scare me a bit tbh.

I don't see a move into the top 10 for Jackson. Would be for Mayfield or Rosen, imo.

I really would love for them to not be able to trade up, lamar jackson falls to 24, and we're able to trade back, get some extra picks and fug the saints over.  Now this, would be my favorite scenario.

Framework was set last year when KC jumped from 27 to 12. I think moving to 8 is a possibility. Bears want to move down badly. If somebody doesn't jump up to 5 or 6 to grab Rosen, I think the Saints are in play.
