Bonnafon

We might have something here....

As most of you know by now, I have been fixated on the flexibility of the draft picks--their ability to understand multiple positions.  Nobody personifies this more than Bonnafon, a genuine Swiss Army knife.  He is a running back, he can catch passes, and he can throw passes.  He has a 43.5 inch vertical.  He runs a 4.4 (he said) at 6' 3".  He would/could save us a roster spot (backup WR, #3 QB, #3 RB).  Coaches say he has a great attitude.  Team player.

This kid will make the team.  Too good of an athlete.

so he is our back-up QB and RB depth?  sounds perfect

I am not sure that he is planned to be that, but that is where this is headed.  Shoot, with this kid, we can carry 2 QBs on the roster knowing he can play as an emergency QB.  We can carry 5 WRs instead of 6.  We can run the qb option, halfback option (run pass).  Woodie.

As a Louisville fan who has watched every game of his career, I am shocked with the amount of love he is getting on here and on twitter. He was recruited out of Trinity High School (Louisville HS) as a 3 star QB. There was a lot of excitement about him coming out of HS and being a local kid who player WB. Outside of beating ND on the road his freshman year, he was a flop at QB.

His first chance at RB was brutal. He was by far the worst RB they put out there. He then was moved to WR where he was ok out of the slot. His senior year they put him back at RB and he was solid. He was never the lead back. Reggie also never played a down of defense in 4 years, so not sure how he helps at CB.

with all that said, he is a great kid. His father who use to coach him and was very close to him died while he was in college. I felt awful for him, but he came back and took on an even bigger leadership role after that. I hope nothing but the best for him, but I don't see it.

I just made myself a Wikipedia page, says I play in the NHL ;)

actually, 6'0" is not accurate either.  It worked for you to round down .7 of an inch, so you went with it.

    • Oh, no TV for tonight's game unless you have the NHL Network, I believe. I could be wrong, hopefully?
    • Early returns are great and exciting but also worth noting that Gettleman had a few drafts that looked incredible early on and wound up mostly sucking (2014 mainly). Also PFF; grain of salt, etc.    I'm completely sold on Tet being a stud, knocked a high pick out of the park like we needed to and always should. Nearly sold on Scourton. Not sold on Princely but he had flashes. Not sold on Etienne as more than a 3rd stringer and special teamer, but that's not terrible for his draft position. Big fan of Ransom and think he'll be a starter.  Cam Jackson : IDK, I see limited upside but we didn't see much of him Evans was a nice find for draft position and he had a great rookie year for a late round rookie TE with plenty of veteran competition. Not sure about his upside though, seems like best case is a long term #2/3 TE, which isn't bad. Jimmy Horn, personally I didn't see a damn thing from him that impressed me all year. And he got a lot of opportunities. Pulling for the kid, but not convinced he's an NFLer.   UDFA: Fitzgerald was an amazing find
    • Hoping someone tells us Bussi was in the starter's crease for the morning skate. Otherwise, place your 1st shot- 1st goal bets! Any closer to a deal that could land a 2C in Trocheck or Brayden Schenn? Or land a winger in Alex Tuch or reach for Jordan Kyrou?
