Home Theater Projector

Can anyone recommend a good native 1080p projector for home use? The trick is I'm trying to project onto a wall that's roughly 19ft away from where the projector would be placed. So I would need a projector that lets you modify the size of the "screen" because at the range the "screen" would be too large for the wall.. I don't want to have to place the projector in the middle of the room or on the ceiling. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I know jack squat about the current technology of projectors, but I've used a poo ton in schools over the years.  First off, how much do you know about projection?  If not much, I found this link here to be helpful:

Looking at your space, you'll really have to cover those windows when you want to project.

Then make sure you have enough projection clearance so it's not clipping your heads.  Projecting that far is going to introduce a fair number of other possible interference.

Sorry, I'm kind of rambling here.  Projectors can be super dope with the size and immersion.  My neighbor has a little cheapo projector he bought for his kids that he sets up in his backyard.  It's OK.  Not great, passable.  It's not mine so I don't critique him.

At school, the church that rents out my space installed a $15k projector that can cut through all the stage lights and still deliver their image on their 24' wide screen.  I bet that's above your budget...

If you can, go to Home Theatre stores to see what they have.  Talk to an expert (so not Best Buy) and do your shopping that way.

Good luck!  Hopefully this was somewhat helpful.

    • No doubt.  I was at the game watching it and it looked like a fly ball to the infield.  It got in the air and just hung up.  XL tracked it like a shortstop.
    • You need to go outside and get some fresh air.
    • Sorry, I don't get the "mental" thing at all. If his football IQ was as low as you say it is, then he wouldn't be out there blocking as well as he is.  It is quite possible that he's been pressing due to not really being in the flow of the game because Bryce doesn't look for him on the regular. His strength, at the moment, seems to be as a mismatch in the slot on crossers and slants in my opinion, and for whatever reason (maybe height) Bryce is more likely going to chuck it to the sidelines. So, in a sense, maybe Legette and Bryce aren't a good pairing, and that gives the appearance that Legette is not all there. Lord knows that Bryce doesn't seem to be able to hit receivers in stride so they can maximize YAC. But anyway...all that being said, I thought that X would be more than just a possession type of guy. So we'll see where it goes from here. I'm not like some, who appear not to see the value in a guy who can kill you like that, and kill you just as well as guys that do their best work on the outside, but, X is going to have to be able to consistently hands-catch on the run and separate better at the top of the route if he really wants to unlock his potential as an all-around receiver. If Bryce could consistently and accurately hit receivers, especially in seams on the slants and crossers, it would open up Legette and the offense. Just my opinion, but I think he causes all the receivers to press to varying degrees, and causes the coaches to call plays that have built-in limitations, but I could be wrong about that.
