5 foot 10

This is my last post until gameweek...I'll come back when we play you. But I see an overarching trend that alot of you are pining your franchise hopes on a 5'10'' quarterback. I know Brees is a good player, but guys, you can't put a whole team on a QB that is 5'10'' that is starting to age. Sorry. See you on game week.

dude are you on crack...I'll take Colston every DAY OF THE WEEK instead of papa smurf...you really think Smith would've caught some of those balls yesterday against the Giants. Puuuuhhhhlllleeeeaaaase

Have you ever actually seen Smith play? Go back and watch the GB game from last year, then ask yourself if Colston would have made that game winning catch?

I would put Smith's highlight reel up against any WR in the NFL. Colston doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Smith.

"Papa Smurf" has lit your ass up for so long I'm suprised you wouldn't have a little more appreciation for what he does.

Enjoy your season front-runner, we've always had the Saints number so I wouldn't feel too confident about that game coming up.

how many years has it taken for the saints to look like real contenders?

it took them 20 years to get their first winning season.

the have had 8 winning seasons since 1967.

they have been to the playoffs 6 years and have played 8 playoff games for a glorious 2-6 record.

2006 was the only year that they went in as something other than a wildcard.

they may be good this year but as a franchise they are still a joke. the blind squirrel may have found a nut but it is still a blind squirrel.

The Saints look good so far, but you would think that their fans would hold off on the ridiculous smack talk until they have actually won something. Say what you will about Jake Delhomme and Steve Smith, but they have pretty much owned the Saints, and we still have two pretty darn good RB's, and a a defense that's getting better every week. There is a lot of football yet to be played and you never know what's gonna happen before we play each other.

I guess the OP joined the saints bandwagon just this season. After a few wins his tiny balls have swollen with pride. He obviously wasn't around when Steve Smith caught game winning catches in both games last season against the aints, in double coverage, against much taller DB's.

You haven't won a game against us this season and we swept you last season, your franchise has been around for 40 some odd years and you haven't even been to a super bowl, so geaux feuxck yeurxself.

    • if  ANYONE actually goes & looks at the FACTS on rookie Qb's after 2 full seasons as a starter in the NFL & they are still well below average do they rarely ever actually become top tier Qb's & instead most likely either do not recieve a second contract & or become life long backups...just saying
    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
