I know we like ragging on him but like Voth said he's our LT and let's hope he's good this year. Some hope in a time everyone is terrified of our left side.

After reading this I feel a little better about the position. Even if it is probably a puff piece. Only 3.5 sacks in the last 14 games, I can definitely deal with that along with the running production off tackle. If those things hold true then I'm not as worried as I was before. Did the presence of Norwell help Kalil? Of course it did...maybe a lot. But if Moton or anyone else not named Amini can provide a smidgen of Norwell's production then I feel pretty good about the left side.

I have high hopes just because that's my default for the off-season.  Still waiting for an article where a player entering Training Camp says "Hey, I'm not where I need to be and don't think I'll be as good this year."

I'm optimistic because what's the point of being pessimistic about a past time we're supposed to watch for enjoyment. The hip flexibility thing makes sense. We'll see if he can overcome it and get back to Pro Bowl form.

I want better.  According to Spotrac, we're 20th in the league in how much of our cap goes to the LT position.  And a bunch of the teams below us are starting guys that are still on rookie contracts.

I remember when he came here, the talk about him finally being 100%, his hips being more fluid, and Ryan talking him up for why he played like a bag of balls in Minnesota. 

Im an optimist about the Panthers, but I'll hold my breath on this one.

I would argue that he played as well as or better than the 20th ranked LT in the league, which means he's already outplaying his contract.  Still want better.

True. But he is the 11th paid LT in the league on an avg per year basis. You mentioned pct of teams salary cap on the position. That would be effected by salary of other players on the team too. So if a team has a QB on a rookie contract  vs a top paid high priced franchise QB it affects that percentage.

That being said, if Kalil can play better to the point of being near the 11th best LT (meaning an above average LT) I would be happy with that. This gives at least a hope that it is reasonable to attain.
