Game of Thrones - Season 8

all I know is...95% of the viewers will most likely have something in common at the end.

I mean the finale wasn't just written by D&D like season 8, but this one is actually directed by them as well.    And they have been pretty open about how they are going to go into hiding.  You don't intentionally disappear and hide from something you are proud of and believe is good.  Yeah, social media exist.  Big deal.  If you think you put together a Breaking Bad caliber ending...you wouldn't go hide from the world.   You only do that when you know you fugged it up.

The only thing that really prevents me from 100% agreeing is the prophecy of the prince who was promised...  I keep wondering if Jon will kill Dany, Grey Worm rushes to defend her, and Arya takes out Grey Worm wearing an unsullied face?

No matter what, Dany dies on Sunday, for sure.

Man, I have been asking repeatedly when Arya would disguise herself again...  I've been waiting all season.  Your idea would be a great way to reintroduce it.

Also thought of a few other things to consider...  someone told me Sophie Turner did an interview before the season and said that Sansa is transformed into a "warrior" by the end of the season.  I'll have to search for that interview, but if that is true, it hasnt happened yet.  Considering the tension between her and Dany so far, what if the twist/surprise we didnt see coming was Sansa kills Dany.  But, I could only see her doing so with poison...  so, that theory is kind of iffy.

Also, I'd been convinced that Jon was The Prince That Was Promised until I found out over the last year that in the language from the books, the word for prince is non-gendered...  so there's that.

Part of me thinks the "Arya using faces" thing is done. D&D shot their load on the Freys. I believe Bran will warg into Drogon and kill Dany or the warging will at least play a part in her death. She'll order Drogon to kill Jon or Sansa and he won't.

That would be super dope.  And seems the most logistically plausible, bc every other scenario we have theorized otherwise, I just can't figure out how Dany would be killed by one of the other characters and still get around leaving her whole army and Drogon.

Not necessarily. Matt Weiner (Mad Men) and Mike Schur (Parks & Rec/The Good Place) always used to disappear after a series/season finale. And those shows were much lower profile than GOT.

Like those guys, D&D will probably re-surface a month later, after they're done hiding from the angry Dany fans.

Drogon has to die. Balance needs to return to Westeros. Drogon is a cheat code.

I heard about a deleted scene where her and Tyrion were fighting wights in the crypts.  That could be what she was referring to.

The best changed I've heard is that Rhaegal isn't killed in ep3.   Everything stays the same, but maybe he just gets injured.  During the battle he stays high in the air just as a backup and lands with Dany/Drogon once the scorpions are taken out.  Same scene happens, bell ring and such, but at that moment Euron pops out a hidden scorpion in the city and takes out Rhaegal(instead of having that silly fight with Jaime).  The crowd starts cheering, maybe even starts desecrating Rhaegal's body in some way(or maybe he's injured enough just to fall into the city and people swarm and kill him).  Dany enrages and the same thing plays out.

Dany can now make the argument that she had to destroy everything to make sure there weren't anymore hidden scorpions but everyone really thinks she was just going on a revenge binge.  It's nice and morally ambiguous.  When Dany gets killed in the finale(which is pretty much inevitable at this point) the fan base gets split and makes for a great ending that people will talk about for a while.  #DanyDidNothingWrong

It would be great if they ended the show with Dany dead, Jon headed for the wall, and closed on a clutch of eggs hatching at Dragonstone.

I think 2 of those are a given.    Dany dies.  Jon goes North.

maybe.  But there is a lot of slow drip IMO from interviews w/ even the cast basically foreshadowing what a disappointing job they did w/ this story.   And 5/6th of the way through that has held true.  Nothing IMO suggests episode 6 is going to be different.  Will be a rushed together episode that poorly tells the story in a satisfying way.

GOT might not even finish as a top 5 HBO series

It has already forfeited that right on my list.  Of course my Top 5 All-Time HBO shows and my Top 5 All-Time Shows are one in the same

    • I really appreciate Bill explaining his methodology here because that gives interested parties a chance to try and recreate the results themselves. I believe that it's safe to assume that despite emphasis being placed on WRs that Chuba Hubbard is one of the Panthers' top-5 weapons. Considering targets, yardage, receptions, etc... Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette are also on the list. Jalen Coker's success might have snuck him in there as well. I can't draw a conclusion on who #5 is though. I've narrowed it down to Diontae Johnson, David Moore, Ja'Tavion Sanders, and possibly Rico Dowdle if they're taking into account his production for the Cowboys in 2024.
    • Unfortunately business is business especially when there are large sums of money on the table. Goes the same for player and ownership. Does not make it right either way.  Why would he not want to play for the niners? Closer to home with a team that has a chance of delivering a SB trophy.
    • I don’t know if it’s him bad mouthing his former situation in public or my pettiness but either way I’m not a fan. Dude was on playoff teams getting paid millions to entertain. I’m not better that because and I am better than that. You don’t bad mouth your former employer in public. Esp after getting over paid and two, poor little Russian baby didn’t get the playing spot he wanted. Rod had him exactly where is was supposed to be.  He had a mean lip check and did defend our players. Specifically the devils game around Christmas where is our Haula on his ass. Cool. Thank you. But don’t talk poo about us. Because it make you look like Haula.    “need to get as far away as possible”. fug off. Didn’t see Burnsy bad mouthing and his play dropped off too.    sorry, but Orlov doesn’t get a pass from me. See you twice a year…
