Not saying the Bills have a good run D, but here are some reasons they're not as terrible as their #32 ranking.

1. 12 teams have only played 5 games, the Bill have played 6. Thats an entire games of rushing stats missing for those 12 teams.

2. The Jets just rushed for 309 on them. Alot of which was two break away runs by Thomas Jones. A 309 yard game will skew any ranking.

3. The other two big rushing performances allowed - gave up 190 to New Orleans, gave up 200 to Miami, were both in blowouts. Rushing stats compound in blowout games.

I still think we have a good day on the ground since it appears to be the only way we can have a good day. I still think Buffalo is a suspect run D. I just don't think they're as bad as the #32 ranking indicates.

Yeah, these rankings are almost always a little misleading, especially this early in the season. You have to factor in the opponents too and how they like to play offense, because some teams are just set up to run the ball more anyway. Miami is a perfect example, because they firmly believe in that wildcat running game, and the Saints passing game is so good that you can't load up the box, which is opening up their running game big time right now.

We are that bad, their is nothing to worry about fellas. Thomas "i'm average" Jones ran for 200+ on us, Jamal Lewis ran for 120 on us, nuff said.

    • While I'd love to add him, it just doesn't make sense for where we are at in our re-build right now. The only teams who should be interested are those who have a very legitimate shot at winning the SB this season, as any team who makes the trade is going to be mortgaging their future to make the move. Teams who make these kinds of trades and then give them the massive contract, in the hopes that it will expedite their path to contention, ALWAYS ends up backfiring because they have to give up the 1st round picks that are then needed to help build out the rest of the roster after eating up such a significant chunk of the cap on the new contract. There is no way the Cowboys trade him for anything less than 2 future 1st rounders (and probably more), plus we'll have to make him the highest paid non QB in league history.  Not to mention that it would then have made the Scourton and/or Princely picks a bit of a waste, as those 2nd and 3rd round picks would have been better off used on a ILB or DB
    • Like his approach to pre season that's ro get them out there and play together for a few plays and right about the night before and morning before.  Maybe we can come out the gate on fire I can smell the smoke from here!!   Go Panthers
    • Only 26 years old, fills the biggest hole on our roster. Top 3 at his respective position, yeah fug it how often does a future HOF player become available in their prime?
