We've ignored the Safety position long enough, time to trade for Earl to mentor our new Safety, and pay him solid money.

This!

Our Safeties, a 37 year old guy

Searcy- who is a jag and castoff from some other teams.  Plus just got a concussion

Collin Jones

Gaulden

I dont know what group looks in worse shape right now.  OT or Safety.  At least Moton looks good, and Williams will eventually come back.

Jones, Gaulden, look terrible.  Searcy looks about the level of our safties last year

Thats the thing.  Saftey price tags have really dropped here recently.  As you just saw with Honey Badger

I agree. To a point. Eric Berry just got paid last year and Lamarcus Joyner would have cashed in if not for an 11M franchise tag. I just don’t see Thomas settling for a lowball offer. Like I said....strange.

But we would have way more cap space for replacement plus larsen would take over for kalil anyway.

This isn't April. Having $20 million in cap space is pretty meaningless at this point unless you go on an insane trading spree and that would be pretty reckless.

Joyner is a young up and coming guy.

Thomas, while a stud.  Is 29 and just 2 years removed from a big injury that had him placed on IR.  Sounds alot like Honey Badger just older

    • well, players dictating things only works if you have the right collection of players to dictate things.  and in all honesty, not sure if we can answer if we do or don't as fans given......there are no Thomas Davis types around that we know are actually about X and Y (based on years showing it).  Collective team is too new to us to know what these dudes are really about in terms of players carrying the burden of culture.
    • Moore can be put in one of the vet spots on IR. No one will be checking for him at the start of the season. But I would be very perturbed if we tried to go all Gettlemagic and stash an obvious talent like Horn on practice squad like we did Butker. If we can get through this year, next year it will be obvious Moore and AT will be gone, starting namely with AT's contract.
    • Culture change comes from the top down, not from drafting a 3 and no D guard. I doubt Lamelo is gonna take his cues from this 20yr old kid lol. If Brandon Miller couldn’t change the culture with how good he is and how much he hustles on both ends, Kon Knueppel sure as hell ain’t changing it. Ace Bailey by all accounts is also a great teammate and hard worker, btw, who was drafted by a team he supposedly didn’t want to go to yet he immediately bought in. And he’s got actual length and tools on both ends of the floor. I feel this pick is going to age like milk rather quickly.
