How many times do you have to see the same mistake made by the same guy before you become willing to say "you know, maybe there's a problem here."

Hub, I get that you want to be an optimist. I'm hopeful for Rivera this year too, but as mentioned I still acknowledge where he has challenges. That's just being realistic.

True optimism is hoping for the best even in the face of issues, not denying that those issues exist. That's just burying your head in the sand while sticking your fingers in your ears and going "la la la la la."

I never claimed Coach is infallible. I just choose not to dwell on his shortcomings like others. All Coaches make mistakes, and I don't think Coach makes anymore than any other good Coach. Most Coaches prefer Vets. Better the Devil you know kind of thing. I see no reason to believe that Coach is not top 10. And he is winning games.

Just because I do not harp on Coaches limitations. Does not automatically mean I do not see them. I just prefer to accentuate the positive, rather than dwell on the negative.

And I dang sure am not going to worry about things before they actually happen. Like folks absolutely freaking out about the possibility of Kalil, or Amini starting. Now if it were to actually happen? Then we can discuss which pitch-forks to use.

A pretty significant portion of the discussion that happens on this board is people speculating on what's going to happen. That's you included. Heck, that's pretty much the topic of this whole thread.

Don't want to discuss negatives? That's your choice. But when you criticize other people who do want to talk about those things, that's when you come across as burying your head in the sand.

Me? I prefer to look at the whole picture, warts and all.

You know what? I go out of my way to try and not criticize folks. (Am I perfect? No.) Other than that, I think, as a whole, I will just keep on keeping on just the way I am.

Which is fine, but there are valid criticisms to be made and people are going to discuss those things. You may not choose to engage in that discussion, but you can't deny every criticism.

Valid complaints, criticisms, or just plain worries. Have at it. My only problem is when folks speculate, then use it as a basis for a complaint. Like for example. IF Rivera starts Amini. Folks are using a hypothetical to bash Rivera. I mean c'mon man. That is crazy.

I have worries. I have concerns. I can see those things. I just don't feel the need to harp on them. But that is just how I roll.

When there's no way to know what's going to happen ahead of time, people speculate.

That's just human nature anyway, but it's especially true of sports fans who are highly anticipating seeing their team play for the first time in a long time.

Just a reminder, Amini was chosen in the 2nd round (40th overall pick) in the 2012 NFL draft (out of the powerhouse Midwestern State Mustangs) by Hurn-dog and Ron.

So, yeah... maybe.

BTW, this is where Midwestern State plays their home games:
