The most disappointing thing about Sunday was the offense's reaction to the headshot on Cam

Sorry, probably should have clarified that.  I didn't even mean here on the huddle necessarily.  I was referring to all my social media Sunday afternoon/evening.  Falcons fans were saying that the hit wasn't dirty and that if Cam runs he needs to expect to get hit like that.  All kinds of people (Panthers fans and fans of football in general) were calling them out, but they maintained they saw nothing wrong with it...

Yes I saw a couple do that in comments on some of the videos of it. Surprisingly though I saw quite a few falcon fans agree it was dirty.

I agree with everything but this was too long to quote lol

I think the main issue is that more players didn't get involved. Not necessarily a brawl, bench clearing, or what have you. After Torrey pushed the safety into next week, all you really saw was Van Roten getting between falcons players and Torrey.  I was peeved at that but that's about it.

Ok one question? did you see the whole field while it was going on? did you watch it on tv or at the game? have you rewatched it showing everything or just the highlight. OK that's more than one question. oops. my point is since it was a long cam run the offence was spread out quite a bit so you cant see what all the players are doing till after the fact. and looks like some didn't even now what happened. even looked like a lot of the falcon players didn't know what happened.

Who is defending what Kazee did?

I am a falcon fan and I don't defend what KZ did, but come on. Cam hammed it up as well. He was not hit as hard as he made it out. Again what should have happened,  happened. He got ejected and I'm sure a heavy fine is coming. They barely touched facemasks.

Smith should have been ejected as well. Along with Takk McKinley

Ah, failcon fans. Even when they appear to agree with you. They make is feel so...icky.

Standing up for your QB and throwing away the 15 free  yards you got are 2 different things. Smith's penalty was unnecessary and hurt the team. Several other players stood up for Cam without drawing penalties. Every yard/point were crucial in a game that decided in the final seconds.

At this point who cares about a game weare talkingabout a persons livelyhood. He saw Cam and continued to lead with his head. Torrey reacted like he should have at this point who cares about the GAME u have nothing at risk from your living room unless its money or pride.. They have much more out there than we do.

You guys kill me talking about the measly 15yds or the game in which we still scored td and lost anyway! Smith became more likable to me than in any other moment period.

Some people make comments on here and reveal that they never played the game--as a player,  you have a job to do.  If the QB is running, you are looking for people to block.  If you see him get hit and he draws a flag, you do NOT jump on the other team's player to get revenge.  That hurts your team and does not undo the damage inflicted on your QB.  Nor does it discourage others from doing the same thing later--on the contrary--they feel that they can hit your QB and get an offsetting penalty when some renegade decides to punch a helmet with his fist because he has applied street justice to the rule book .  It is a lack of discipline, nothing more.  The opponent is wearing a helmet and padding that is akin to armor.  Pushing him down is not painful.  Punching him is not painful (to him).  If you think pushing the Falcon player down was Smith making a statement, you are right.  "I am a veteran who does understand how my actions adversely impacted my team.

There is a place for intelligence on the field, especially when something like this happens.  Smith was stupid.  Cam  still went to the tent, the Falcon player was not phased or hurt in any way by Smith's brutal push.  We lost yardage for no reason.  If you want to praise Smith, you don't understand the game.

Why?  He lost control and allowed Cam to be hit instead of blocking the player who hit Cam.  Smith was WATCHING the play to understand what occurred.   Your logic--benefited by hindsight--applies one situation to prove some point that you feel is applicable to all similar situations.

If he blocked the player and Cam was not hit, you would not comment---Smith would have done his job and you would not like him any more than before.  However, you like him when he loses composure and was not doing his job effectively.  Go figure.

Just what they showed on TV tbh. I'll admit, you guys that actually attended had a better view so I can't speak on what transpired outside of what they showed and replayed.

That's smart if you're playing Pop Warner and you're trying to teach life lessons to children. These are grown men, most of which are millionaires. You defend your own and don't let anyone walk all over you.

Wouldn't it have been nice too have a few seconds more at the end of that game? It took over a minute of game time to recover the 15 yards that we would have received if Smith had controlled himself. Would that have changed the outcome? No way of knowing. What we do know is your way resulted in the "L".

Play smart disciplined football. Leave the blood for blood crap for the punks on the streets.

At this point im not caring about the game and i think thats why he shoved him instead of hitting him. I dont care about the yards bc guess what the game still went on. WE lost period and even if it was a deciding factor I am glad to see that someone showed their distaste for that hit. The team should have responded better than they did and pulled out the win but they have become soft like i been saying we need some grit out there period.

back to my question. what more do you think should have happened to the guy? he got nailed after the hit. the refs ejected him. he will most likely be fined. (I'll be mad and bitch if not) could possibly be suspended because of the hits he did in preseason too. was I mad about the hit? hell yes, I wanted to punch someone. I'm I pissed about how they have treated Cam in the past? fug yea. But they did it right Sunday. All I want is for Cam to be treated like every other QB no better or no worse.

They did right by ejecting the guy Sunday. I'm talking about an attitude that the NFL has towards Cam. They know refs aren't going to do jack poo unless the hit is so egregious it can't be ignored, and because of that, Cam is fair game.

The team needs to set an attitude towards the rest of the NFL teams they aren't going to take their QB getting hit like that. The mindset needs to change.
