Eric Reid

Uh, he's not even playing in his traditional role as a box safety yet. He did his job today, it wasn't his fault that Peterson's old ass kept getting past our front seven. I guarantee you AP would have broken a long one for a TD if any of our other safeties from the past few seasons were back there.

Wasnt the huddle crying for him tho?

would pie, but have an artificial limit I guess....gave poo for other than football decisions...for social justice...now expressing my dislike has limited my ability to make reactions.

That is why, these peeps can not figure out why peeps they do not think should be winning.... Win. Shut down our free speech all you does not change where the SILENT MAJORITY is...they just choose not to be shut down, or called racist.

I have defended Cam, I have defended Moore, Peppers (way back when he left),  called out John Fox, Delhomme, Shula, have praised RIVERBOAT Ron and called John Fox Jr (Ron Rivera, play to win not lose), back JNO and Smitty over Gettleman...yet, I disagree over  capperdick and reid (really smith, as well...who got us reid)...a racist. That is why people do not respond on these boards. Group think, that likes to shut down a differing opinion and call names...

can not be no differing opinions...lol

this is what happens when your sjw owner is more concerned with making a social statement than winning ball games

same as above pie, but the libs decide to take the 1st amendment as toilet paper...cause too much poo was given to other than a football decision and how it affected the team over all...a borderline team...that is..

we should cut his ass now he has a bad attiude and sucks ass remember it was a reason he was sitting on the couch before we got him and it had nothing to do with him being blackballed it cause he sucks.

I mean he was for sure being blackballed(not colluded against) because he is not good enough to justify the distraction he brings around the team.

He's still in transition, though with that said he's also a veteran so you wouldn't expect the transition to take as long as it might if he were a younger player.

Regardless, people really did have some unrealistic expectations for him when he signed.  And frankly, not just for Reid himself.

Our defense this year is bad, quite possibly very bad. And the reality is that we weren't one safety away from being great when Reid was brought on, but apparently a number of folks believed we were.

Can we be clear on one thing?

This was not a "social justice" signing, and it didn't start with Tepper.

Hurney and Rivera sat down to look at options, saw Reid as the best option, ran it past Tepper and signed him.

Signing a guy just to make some kind of statement would be idiotic.  You sign a guy because he helps you win football games, and that's why they signed Reid.

Whether that turns out to be the right call, we'll see.  But let's not act like we were willing to sign a lesser player just to make a point.

If Eric Reid was not a distraction, then the media wouldnt be asking the players about his kneeling, that in itself is a distraction,  media should be asking our players about football, not politics...its a distraction...the great Eric Reid that Tepper is so proud of is hurting his team, but hes too blind to see it...sad..

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
