It's actually not.  He played in some of the early games and looked pretty good doing so.

And again, you never part ways with good depth.  If something happened to McCaffrey, Anderson could have stepped in and still been starter quality. Artis-Payne?  Not so much.

There's just no good reason to make your roster depth worse, especially if you wanna go on a playoff run.

I hear you. There must be more to the story. That’s why I’m surprised we didn’t try get some sort of trade.

Absolutely baffling. It's like we had to find a scapegoat for Thursday night, so we pick the backup RB who hardly ever plays. Yep, it's his fault the defense sucks and we couldn't pass protect. Cut his ass!!!

They've given a reason.

It doesn't make any sense, but hey...

Surprised nobody mentioned that Cadet was App St's starting QB after Armanti Edwards

Cadet is a pass catching RB with special teams value. My guess is CJ Anderson didn't want to play special teams so he was a wasted roster spot.

Regardless, I don't know why so many people on here are salty that we released CJ. There was literally no reason to not have CMC in every play that CJ would be in the game. CJ didn't move the needle one bit for us as a team, so why all the whining and salt.

Well, technically there's never a good time to do that, but we do wanna go on a playoff run.

So I guess this move makes sense if...

...I got nuthin :fear:

the idea of us going on a playoff run without these dunces messing it all up cracked me up for some reason.

its not like he barreled people over for about 5 yards every time he touched it.   who needs that?  evidently we don't.  i get the idea of letting him go somewhere to actually play, but we should have been playing him.   wtf we are stupid.    who doesn't see cmc getting injured now?  the football gods may have their revenge on us.

The only way this makes sense to me is that Travaris is better at catching the ball out of the backfield.  Maybe they felt they really couldn't trust CJ to do that, and that makes him predictable in his use.

Cadet isn't going to be taking Anderson's role.  Cameron Artis-Payne is.

Barring injury, it's doubtful that Cadet will even see the field.

Heck, at this rate, barring injury Artis-Payne may not see the field.

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
