25 of 37 including 5 open drops from Funchess which if caught wouldve put Cam at 30-37

And his 1 int hit Samuel but was ripped away

Yup, forgot the INT was pretty much on Samuel as he lost a scrap for it.  Regardless, in that scenario, you don't mind your QB throwing it up, trying to make something happen.

Also, i know at least two other INTs this year were from receivers tipping well-throw balls up.

You know what would be nice? Our QB benefiting from our defense giving him a short field or our special teams actually executing a return.

How many drives this year has the offense had to go 80+ yards due to either penalties on our kick return team or our defenses inability to keep a team from driving to the 50 before it’s time to punt?

what we are watching here are the 2011 and 2012 panthers.  Offense is clicking but the defense just can’t do anything. At least in 2011 and 2012 we had the excuse of lacking talent on the defensive side of the ball. We don’t have that now.

It’s not all on CAM but he has to make that throw no matter what. He failed during the Redskins game with the same issue trying to force to Funchess when Olsen was open underneath for the 1st down conversion.

A couple of points there...  I think Cam tries to keep Funchess in the game, and as a result, forces some passes that he wouldn't otherwise.  And also, this discussion kind of proves my point...  the Washington game should've never came down to that last drive.  We didn't show up...  just like we didn't against ATL, PIT, and today.  That's a result of shitty coaching and the culture the coaches have cultivated under Rivera.

Cam's overall performance is one of the only reasons we were even in contention to win at the end.

The Panthers motto is keep pounding, not keep giving up yards. Until our defense can successfully hold up their end of the bargain, we will keep seeing games like this.

Please do explain how a very tall DT with his hands up in the passing lane that connects with the "wide open receiver" makes for a "relatively easy pass".

Dis gon' be gud.

I'm sure you're going to get something that suggests that the poster could hit More with Urlacher in the lane with Reggie White and Jules collapsing the pocket

Oh, for sure.

Every other QB in the NFL makes that throw in that situation.  Only Cam misses it.  This we know.

    • I've shown you numerous comps for other tackles in the same age and talent range.  His contract, taking into account his age, health, etc.  is the going rate.  It's a fair deal. I've shown you examples of how long it usually takes to find even an average replacement.  Hell, look at every tackle that has ever started for the Panthers.  How many would you consider a success?  They are not easy to find. After everything we've done with this team since drafting Bryce why would we decide to let our best linemen go and add a huge question mark at tackle?   FA is a crapshoot in which any guy available will have cons/issues.  If not, they'll cost a fortune.   Outside of a first or maybe 2nd round pic next year it'll take a few years for a tackle to learn the position at the NFL level.  There are still questions about Icky. Every vet NFL player deals with maintenance.  Between the contract value and history I'm not overly worried about his knee.  I contend his knee issue isn't anything to be overly worried about.  It's not zero risk but it's an acceptable risk.  Every player we draft and every contract we sign has risk.  You're blowing up his own negative words about his knees and ignoring him saying he is healthy and the knee is a non issue.  You have a strong chicken little complex with this team.  Being he has always been a Panther they are very aware of any health issues. We paid now because now is cheaper.  If his knee was really an issue they would have waited.  That tells me it's not the issue you want it to be.
