He knows he's done.

I honestly hope Tepper goes ahead and pulls the plug. We know it's coming. What's the point in waiting? What are we gonna do, lose some games? LOL! We're already doing that.

This.  Let Norv see what he can do.

fug Ron.

Hiring Ron was the worst mistake this franchise has ever made.

Panthers never had a number 1 draft pick as a QB until Cam. Ronald had 11 interviews, 11 fuging interviews and couldn't get hired until this dumb ass franchise hired him. Cause of his inexperience he didn't know what he had and what to do with Cam. He can't even tell Cam to not play sit his ass down and because of that it ruined his arm.

What playoff push?

still possible to sneak in if we split with the saints and beat cleveland and atlanta. i dont think it will happen but might as well play out the season and then fire Rivera. what difference does firing Rivera make now? players already look like they've given up and firing the head coach isnt gonna make them try harder, it will signal ownership has given up on the season.

I don't think you have to disgrace the man. Just politely part ways with some kind words toward hin in the presser. Both sides can move on. It's like a couple who knows their relationship is over. What's the point in going through the motions and pretending everything is okay while you're both miserable? Just cut the cord. It's best for both parties in the long run.

After today's results, I agree.

Thank Ron for his efforts and move on.

firing a head coach midseason rarely rallies the troops to make a playoff push. let Rivera play out the season and then fire his ass.

Browns have been a better team sans Hue.

Look at the difference in the Bucs defensive play since firing Smith.

Look at the Cards offense since firing McCoy.

It makes a difference.

He’s never had back to back winning seasons, he has lost us games because of time management, with all the talent we’ve had the defense has never been top 5 even though he’s a defensive player or and he hired and kept Shula around far far too long. But yeah he hasn’t been an embarrassment at all.

And still managed to win 58% of his games and make the playoffs 4 times after taking over the worst team in the NFL. Have the best season in team history. And since no other coach in team history has had back to back winning seasons, how embarrassed can you be? Should be used to it.

There is no advantage at all to holding on to Rivera just to fire him at the end of the season.  He's not going to suddenly turn it around - this was the game he had to do that in, and the team fell flat.

Firing Rivera now could provide a spark... it is unlikely, but leaving him in place sure as hell isn't.

Because firing him n a month wouldn’t say any of that. Grow up children.

And it’s done every year by many teams. Whatever our benefit. Have coaches that won’t be here coach the team. You think coaches don’t know it’s coming it most cases? There is no logical reason to fire a 6-6 coach during the season. One second after? Absolutely. Along with any other JR people.

The old risk -rewards analysis---No reward in firing him now--Lets be classy about this.

After today, it should be crystal clear to Tepper that the Panthers and Ron need to part ways.

Keeping Ron as head coach is like beating a dead horse.

Let Turner take the reins for the rest of the season.
