Has Norv had to limit his playbook?

Um, well, yeah. Since the beginning of the season. We just really didn't realize it until the last five or six games how little Cam had left in that arm. Norv and Ron were covering for it as much as they could because Cam could still outperform most back ups, but in the end it just wasn't enough.

It was just making the best of what we had in front of us, but the well ran dry. We might see more of the deep routes with Cam on the bench now, but we won't see everything that they'd hope to do. Heinicke doesn't have Cam's gifts, skills or experience.

Hopefully there will be some serious healing on Cam's shoulder and we can see the full playbook put into play.

Sadly, I think our WRs came out looking a lot worse for this than they deserved to, but the game plan is always affected by the QB's capabilities.

Honestly, I feel really, really good about our WR's . . . better than I have in a very long time.  If Cam's arm was properly attached, our defense would not have mattered in the least this season because with the deep ball touch he has with Curtis and DJ's speed . . . we would likely have made people seriously terrified of what would be coming next.

We were already really good until Cam's arm deteriorated and opposing defenses figured it out.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
