That was what I was gonna ask.

cam has been avoiding this surgery for about two years now. He doesn't want to do the MRI because he's freaked out by needles, and he doesn't want to do the surgery because it comes with a rehab period.

Starting with the MRI, Cam has flat out said "no one knows what's wrong." This is true because he won't get a contrast mri. This involves shooting dye into the joint capsule and then taking an mri. It's absolutely a nothing procedure that I've had done in each elbow. They lidocaine you up and fill you up. But he is afraid of needles. So when he's talking about "the doctors don't know," they don't know because they've only seen x rays. Unless his like acromion process is dangling into his brachial nerve this isn't going to show poo.

Regarding the surgery, Cam almost certainly needs a shoulder reconstruction of some kind. We don't know yet because of  the aforementioned MRI. Doctors cannot tell what's the situation of your SITS muscles, or your deltoid, or your non rotator cuff shoulder muscles, or your accessory muscles etc without that information.

Cam doesn't want the surgery because A.) he's afraid of the knife and B.) he doesn't want to commit to the rehab. I cannot stress that enough. Cam wants his offseasons to himself. He doesn't want to stay in Charlotte, or Birmingham, or Pensacola (dr. andrews) doing 4 hours of rehab a day for months on end to get ready for the season. He just wants to rest and heal. Unfortunately we're at the point where he has no other option. He's decided on very passive treatment for 2 offseasons now and obviously it hasn't worked. The most telling comment he made was when he said he had "tried everything, including acupuncture." Acupuncture is completely bullshit and all this reeks of Dante Culpepper doing rehab at like his friend's massage envy.

"but fiz, he got his ankle surgery!" well yeah, but ankle injuries are a lot harder to ignore. I mean, you walk a lot. There are millions of americans walking around with rotator cuff tears right now who just learn to live with it. They're not NFL QBs though.

No one can tell Cam what to do with his body. There are plenty of people that don't want to go under the knife, and Cam doesn't owe this team a goddamn thing. But he can't have this both ways. If he wants to continue his NFL career, he needs to go ahead and bite the bullet and get this done. He needs to sacrifice his vacation trips to central america and atlanta strip clubs and start throwing a nerf ball for hours a day. Again, no one can make him do this, and if he decides not to, vaya con dios. But an nfl team can't keep trotting out a qb who's inevitably going to fall apart by week 8, and who is already losing his deep ball as it is.

You might wanna put that in a thread of it's own.

That's kind of a big deal.

Not in as much detail as you just posted.

well there you have it. we'll know soon.

i mean cam could have this poo done tomorrow, if he was willing to do it. if not, no hard feelings, go design hats and smoke spliffs or whatever you want to do and let the panthers trade for nick mullens or whomever.

Cam isn't going anywhere.  He is one smart cookie.  When he saw the writing on the wall, he settled into just going through the motions.  No point in going up against the juggernaut(Saints) and getting embarrassed another year.   Regroup and focus on next season.  Get the pieces we need to win.

What is your obsession with what he does in his spare time?

because he's doing that instead of getting a career prolonging surgery.

which again, i don't give a poo. Like I've said, Cam doesn't owe this team anything and will retire as the 2nd greatest player in team history.

but if he wants to play, he needs to do this.

It's not complicated.

So Cam lost all those games on purpose?

Haven't you ever done something without giving it your all because you knew what would happen in the end?  Cam knew that this is the Saint's year.  We lost 3 times to them last season.  You lose 3 times again in big games and people start questioning your ability.  Just isn't a good look for a marketing genius like Cam.
