Anyone have any doubts Rivera needs fired now?

We haven't had any great DEs in years either.

Its almost like that JUST MIGHT have something to do with the judgement of a defensive Head Coach under whom the team has spent the majority of its draft picks and FA signings *on defense* since he took the job.

Ya think?  Maybe?

I’d keep Ron on as dc if this were 1991. But I agree with the poster who said the game has passed him by. Ron has demonstrated beyond any reasonable doubt that he’s to inflexible, too resistant to change, too unwilling to evolve. I’m convinced fresh blood is what it’s going to take to rejuvenate us.

I’ve wanted Rivera gone since 2016, but TBH I could have handled him here next year with a new GM.

I'm exactly the opposite.

If I had to make a deal where Hurn Dog kept his job for at least one more year to get Ron Rivera's sorry dinosaur ass out the door, show me where to fugging sign.  (But personally they both need to not let the door knob hit them on the ass on the way out.)

Yeah, whatever you come up with, it ends with: The Panthers owner is from the organization that is JR's "model franchise"

He was a minority owner.

Each and every one of the minority owners of a franchise can gang up and you know what they can do to the majority owner?

Not a damn thing.

The majority owner is THE OWNER.  All of the others are just investors.

I think ron needs to go. We need to evolve, change, and adapt as a franchise to the current nfl and ron has us falling behind a lot of other teams. We need david tepper to start putting his own mark on this franchise and start a new era of carolina panthers football. I mean no indoor practice facilities I totally blame jerry richardson for that. We need to move on from these older players like captain, poe, adams, and torrey smith. My GM candidates if we make changes would be omar kahn or joe douglas. Now coaching candidates if tepper wants to make a splash he would need to get jim harbaugh, other candidates pete carmichael, or lincoln riley.

Yeah, he needs to go. He's clearly a very decent human being but it's a cut-throat industry, and there are certain aspects of the game (time management being prime amongst them) that he just can't do properly and never will.

The GM needs to go too so new people can be hired in GM-HC order. Only worry about that is how long it will take to get new folks in place, and how many prime HC candidates we'll miss out on whilst concentrating on getting a new GM.
