The Window has closed

No matter what happens with Rivera keeping his job or not tomorrow. I really believe our championship window has closed on this current combo with Rivera/Cam/Luke. Cam and Luke may have a chance if we strike gold in a new coaching regime in the next couple of years but time is slipping.

Rivera had his chance in 2015 and didn’t prepare enough/got cocky/in over his head/ biased officiated/ or a combo of all of those in the Superbowl.

Had we won that game, his time here would have been a success IMO.

Realistically, we may not have another Super Bowl berth for another 10 years. I hope I’m wrong.

Cam's window completely depends on his shoulder being repaired which means he's a Top 10 QB and all we need to win a Lombardi.

Luke played concussion free this year and people in the know will place him in the Pro Bowl this year. He'll be the same next year.

All we need is a new GM and HC.

And we need to get on that ASAP. Giving Rivera and Hurney another year only wastes more time for our cornerstone players.

We have a great young nucleus on offense, along with good pieces on D.  As long as Cam is healthy our window has absolutely NOT closed.  A good draft combined with a couple FA acquisitions and a healthy Cam, we are Super Bowl contenders.  GTFO with this crybaby, woe is me bullshit

I don’t think it can be done with Rivera at the helm. We’ve had about 3 years of championship-level talent on this team and it didn’t get done.

This team can make a quick turnaround with a new regime.

Look at the teams that have gotten new coaches in the last two seasons and been successful.

Rams, Colt's, Titans, etc. They have similar pieces to CAROLINA. Some of the Panthers pieces are even better. All have one thing in common. Franchise QB. I don't see why a new regime cannot be successful with this talent.

Agreed. But time is wasting away. Tepper needs to ACT

The opening certainly narrows by keeping the clowns running the circus, but, if Cam comes back healthy I won't count us out as he has proven plenty of times he can carry the team.

I think the team could push deep even without Cam if we got ourselves a pass rusher, oline help and someone who could be a game manager at QB since we finally do have weapons, which makes keeping Hurndog and Ron even more frustrating to me.  We'll see what happens.

    • Damn Logan Jones had a good day too. Was high on him coming in as he anchored that top Iowa line and is a fire plug inside. He's gonna be 25 to start the season so maybe he slips into the 4th but I doubt it, even if C isn't a premium position. His play on the field was top notch and the combine boosted it again. Arm length is about the only knock. But guy is plug and play at C.   This is a loaded class at C. Need to grab one.
    • Bryce will be permanently replaced by a draft pick. There's not another Sam Darnold out there to save us. Tepper is going to see this throw because he dumped Mayfield and Darnold too soon. He's going to give it 1 more year before he will sign off on dumping another 1st round pick qb. Thats the cold hard truth of it. It doesn't mean we can't get younger and much better at the backup position.
    • Maybe I should have used a different word and saved that for me. I want someone that has something impressive about them.  Someone that has potential to supplant a guy who is producing 25th best type of numbers. 22nd, 27th all that bottom third neighborhood.  I don’t know where that will come from it just can’t be from even a 4th round pick this year IMO. Unless FA is crazy productive.    I’ll give Bryce a better than bottom rating for his playoff game. Well above low twenties. But at least half of his games were bottom third level. Probably 2/3 to 3/4 of them were.
