I would love to see Moton  at LT, but Jourdan needs more than, "I  believe..." because there has been no evidence they  want  him there because they had a need this year and did not play him there.

We all see the skill set in Moton, but I do not see the willingness of the staff.

Now if your reason is salary cap, as suggested, re-signing Williams will be expensive, as will retaining or cutting Kalil....a lot could happen, but can anyone tell me why people  think---based on logic  and decisions NOT  to play him at LT this year----why folks are assuming Moton to LT--assuming that JR is saying that...

He did play there in the preseason and only moved because Williams went down twice. Where were you all year.

Cut Kalil & Poe to open up $13M, cut Torrey Smith and Capt to open up another $7M for $20M before any other moves are made. Sign DWill, move Moton to LT, sign Piradis and/or a vet LG, then go draft interior line help.

I'm most concerned about the center position. Van Roten, while he isn't very good, was at the very least consistently available and the line as a whole overachieved so I wouldn't be butthurt if he was still at LG (though there are a lot of good prospects we could take to replace him).

We need to upgrade LG  and center Rotten and Larsen are depth at best

I think Van Roten was  good enough to start, we just got spoiled by Norwell overachieving. Larson is a solid backup, but not a starter at either position. We need a center and a LT. IMO, Williams and Moton are best suited at RT.

I’m tired of just good enough. Just good enough got Andrew Luck killed and then Cam killed,..

it’s time to draft a legit Left Tackle in the first and a Center and/ whatever other Oline BPA we can. If there’s a center FA as someone else suggested we can get— go get them.

anyone think we still lose 10 games even with Cams bum shoulder if we had Dallas offensive line?

The defense needs DB for sure— that and better play calls— I wouldn’t mind if the picks ended up being CB and Safety if OT and C are out of reach or gone.

Shoot— LT, C, DB DB with 1st 4 picks

I'm not sure if you're agreeing with me or not. I think we're both saying that LT and Center are our O-line needs and IF we can upgrade LG, all the better. The right side looks solid and we have decent depth. I have trouble spending an early pick on guard when DE and our secondary need bolstering.

I am agreeing with you. We need Oline and we also need half a new defense— it will be tough to fix that in one offseason.

so I’m kind of like, pick one side and fix it, save the other for 20/20.

the OT I would love to have one, but maybe they all go before us, there’s only 3, so a lot of teams will skip on the defensive to get the few offense early.

so if none there, go ahead and get the best front 7 player.

we need a C and probably a Guard but we can get maybe FA—

either way I see us as mediocre next year— 20/20 hopefully we have a real team again

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
