Everyone in the NFL is talented. If you really want to be somebody, you have to put in the work.

Mike Mayock on JR...The best Pro Day I ever saw as a quarterback was JaMarcus Russell. . . . I’ve never seen a quarterback throw the football like that in my life, but I still couldn’t take him in the first round — the guy doesn’t care about football. He doesn’t have the passion for the game, doesn’t have the work ethic, I don’t want him.

It appears that maybe Kelvin might have similar problems.  It is amazing how his career has nose dived.

QB is one position where not even prodigious talent can save you. Truly elite talents can often make it at other positions. They'll never reach their potential, but they can have long careers and even be pretty decent players even if they aren't 100% committed. Not at QB though.

Just look at guys like PacMan Jones, Albert Haynesworth, hell Lawrence Taylor was famous for falling asleep in meetings though I'm not sure that being brutally hungover and strung out necessarily qualifies as lazy.

I don’t know how anyone drafted him? I mean, people get paid pretty good money to scout, do interviews etc?

why not have a tape session for the combine, watch and report?

we saw a video of Belicheck spending time with positions having them do drills but then telling them how to do it, demonstrating, and then watching to see how fast they corrected or their attitude.

how does Jamarcus Russell get drafted if that was what he was?
