Speculation: Cardinals might already be negotiating with Kyler Murray

Kingsbury raved about Murray and said he'd pick him #1 overall in the draft if he had the opportunity. The Cardinals hired him. I don't think you hire a complete wildcard of an NFL head coaching candidate and then not give him the QB he wants.

I'll be shocked if the Cardinals don't take Murray.

I still think they are crazy wanting to draft him 1st overall.

I mean, has anyone else seen him in the Orange Bowl with Alabama? I just watched those highlights and they were of Alabama taking him down repeatedly over and over again.

He looks great with no pressure as many do— but Alabama gave him and us the best preview of what it’s going to look like in the NFL when teams really come after him.

it looked bad— and he’s half the size of RGKnee,..

whatever,... not my problem,.. just makes it a better chance a guy I like actually makes it to 16.

He racked up over 400 all-purpose yards against Alabama.

His size is definitely a red flag, but you don't hire a gimmicky college all offense coach and then not give him the QB he wants. You're not even giving your almost certainly bad hire an honest chance if you don't.

Still don't understand why they haven't just come out and announced he's the pick.  It can't be fear of losing leverage or value in trading Rosen because everyone already thinks Murray is the pick.

The Panthers never announce anything that isn't official. Doubt other teams would either.

I misspoke.  I didn't mean like an official release or anything, but several teams with the #1 pick have openly telegraphed their plans with the pick in recent years...  some have even agreed to terms before the draft.  To me, it makes even less sense in this scenario because the Rosen situation lingers.

What would be the point?
