“I still believe Jake is our best quarterback,”

If Jake is our best QB, what does that say about Double M and Feeley?

Just goes to show what some if us already know.

We need to start with a new slate.

it doesn't show anything except Fox refuses to adjust until the decision is taken out of his hands. Fox thinks Moose is the 2nd best option at WR.....bring another coach in and you think he is going to evalute the WRs and determine the best thing to do is primarily only run Smitty and Moose? Moose is a great blocker but not putting other WR threats is also hurting the team. Again, 07 Fox determined that backups Vinny and Carr were better options based on his evaluation...he was proven wrong in 07 that Moore was indeed a better option than Vinny for the team....he only made the move when injury forced him. Same can be said w/ Foster/Williams. Coaches show bias and don't always make the right calls. Coaches are also painfully flawed at times....just b/c Fox thinks something...doesn't make it correct. Even guys w/ big fancy paychecks can be idiots.

I'd like to see Jake start this game, have a decent game, with a possible win....then just walk away & let all these "armchair coaches" have what they deserve....Matt Moore or whomever. It wasn't very long ago I recall these very same people wanting Carr to start....guess what...after the third game he did, and Vinny did, and...well, we all know how that ended....But this time, I really hope they get what they want!

    • I am no football savant as has been demonstrated here over and over, but I saw it.  I went for years doing the mock draft thing and researching the players that we might get around our pick, time consuming stuff. And we would get to the draft and trade the pick. All that time, wasted.  So I quit doing that. Also realized I was not a scout and would never be a scout and went to looking the videos and reports After  we picked a guy.  Maybe I would look at the 1st round, but quit that too and just looked after we picked.    When they did that trade I saw Bryce and his size and just ruled him out. Then it got to yeah they are probably going to take him, I relented and looked at some video and got to his pro day. It took me all of a few minutes to see the issues. The footwork. The arm. And the tape of games? The backyard style. I knew, what can I say?  (Also, went down the physical checklist, not a single plus attribute on the NFL level. Arm, speed, size, etc, nothing to offset the negatives. nothing)  I think it was easy for me because I had not watched a single game he played in college, and wasn’t drawn in by the hype. Had no preconceived notions and just looked at it pretty clinically.  I got in here and everyone was going “but look at what he did in college! It is the SEC, if he can do it in the SEC he can do it in the NFL!” Couldn’t reason with hardly anyone.  I don’t think I could tell you which guy would succeed between two prototypical guys with great arms and athleticism, and have no special insight into any of that. My one calling in football scouting was to see the real about what we were about to do. And you still don’t know for sure until they get in a real game in the NFL.
    • Miss Bryce sorely is possibly the most hilarious statement I have read on the Huddle in quite some time.
    • He did only throw 1 pass 20+ in that game. I think he is still struggling to adjust to the NFL. At Alabama he was able to extend plays and play backyard football. That's not only not the style of offense we have been running but his physical skills don't lend themselves to that style of play at this level.  So, the amount of issues he actually has to clean up are WAAAAAY more than I anticipated as a guy that had Bryce #1 on my board in that draft class.  I am just not seeing a reasonable path for him to clean it all up and develop in a reasonable timeframe
