I feel like this game will be ugly for either team.

1. Islanders tear us apart after having 8 months of rest while we had one day.

2. We are feeling good and in the groove while the islanders come out slow and out of sync because they were off for 11 days.

Agree with a comment I saw on the Islanders reddit that they needed to survive the first period when they'll probably be sloppy and the Canes will have their legs, or what's left of them. Best case, the Canes will need to get a couple fast and then hang on for two periods with dead legs.

Most likely. Could get surprised though. Hopefully Rod had the guys essentially on bed rest yesterday and treated them all to massages. Just gotta find ways to beat the feeling of pure death those last 3 games surely made you feel.

Islanders could be sloppy, but I doubt it. I think they'll be really focused from the jump. We'll see in a few hours though

o-bitchken. having said that. i don't think we win tonight unless islanders come out flat footed. they've had too much time off, we need some more time after game 7. now having said that, we win in 5-6 games. then beat boston in 7.

I will try and get to a NYI game, since I will be working in NJ.

Let me know if you happen to go Sunday. Just got tickets and driving down there from Boston

Ticket prices for games 3 and 4 are already stupid, even at face value.

What are they? For reference I just got tickets for Sunday in NY upper level by our end first row for $167 including stubhub fees. I didn’t think that was too bad for a second round game. Our home tickets way more?

    • That was intended to be plural. Games(3 games he played in 2004). Yeah, I think objectively CJ is still the better QB but I also no longer have a rosy view of his career. I don't know that he is going to ascend any further than his rookie year and he may descend quite far if his confidence is shattered. I am not in the CJ vs. Bryce camp like most of you all are. I don't want either of them. Especially in the context of potentially getting a mega deal. I could be wrong about both or either in the end but my bet now is that entire 2023 first round QB class just doesn't have any upper tier QB's.
    • I think DJ will always catch some heat because he will never be an elite WR, despite having elite attributes. I remember that when he was here. We all saw Steve Smith play for years, so we know what a truly elite WR looks like. DJ was never that. Now, is he a very, very good WR? Yes. Is he one of the best 15-20 WR's in the NFL year in and year out? I would say yes, as well. But he will always get some doubters because he is the tier below the truly elite WR's. I do agree, though. Would love to still have it. Would love to have reversed that trade immediately. Especially with the benefit of hindsight the way we have now. It's way more painful from that view.
    • No, he never threw 8 tds in a game.  I feel like we're splitting hairs and are describing the exact same situation, but you're looking through the lens of recency bias.  Either way, the original point remains the same.  CJ Stroud is still far better than Bryce Young.
