Trade Rumors Thread

I did not see a trade rumor thread.  Watching NFL Network and I can start a few rumors.  Please add them as you hear them.

Green Bay getting offers at #12.

Atlanta (#14) looking to trade up for inside pass rusher (Oliver?).

Miami (#13) needs a lot--would consider a trade back.  Casserly feels they will build the roster in 2019 and go for a QB in 2020.

Washington (#15) may trade up for Haskins, which means they would probably have to leapfrog #6 Giants.

Giants interested in Daniel Jones. WAS might not need to jump over NYG after all

I thought for a while that Raiders and Cards have a deal in place and that the NFL is asking them to keep it under wraps until tonight. The Raiders sent their scouts home to make sure it didn't leak.

It just makes too much sense. Raiders go up to 1 to get Murray. They need someone exciting like Murray to sell tickets in the new stadium in Vegas. Cards stick with Rosen and have their pick of Josh Allen, Quinnen Williams, and Bosa.

Cards have spent a lot of time with Bosa.  Could happen.

Honestly, nothing about it makes sense. Why would you hire a gimmicky sub-.500 all offense failed college head coach if you're not going to give him the QB he wants? The experiment is almost certainly destined for spectacular failure, but if you don't draft Kyler Murray you never even gave it a chance.

I think the Raiders do have a surprise in store tonight and Mayock has hinted to this, but I think that surprise is QB at #4.

Someone on NFL network made a good point--the focus in the NFL has been on getting the ball out quickly---this makes DE/Edge less important and middle pass rushers more important.  Atlanta is considering trading down for Oliver, but if not,  I think they take Wilkins.

In other fragmented news, it looks as if 3 QBs are going in the first half of the first round--

1. Murray

4. Haskins (to Raiders or a trade up)

15. Jones (Redskins would take either Haskins or Jones here--could trade up for haskins---some talk about trading back as well--LT says Jones is no first round talent, Casserly likes him, compares him to Brad Johnson, Trent Green)

I still think Elway is taking Drew Lock.

I'm not mad bc it will benefit us, but I just dont understand Washington.  It's like they just want to take a QB just to take one.  They still dont know if Alex Smith is coming back, picked up Keenum who can be really good in the right system (and I think he fits in really well in Gruden's offense), and they still want to draft a QB?  And not a specific one, ANY QB they can get lol...  sounds like a good plan.

And the QB draft next year is so much better--why not wait a year to see what you have?  Gruden's job is not on the line....

    • Actually that 4400 was based on a 16 game season to match Bryce's 16 games this year. Your offense has to be to drive the ball when it matters. Bryce doesn't do that with any level of consistency. If you're building a team that isn't focused on your QB, then fine. Then there's no need to pay Bryce as a franchise QB because literally anyone else will do. If you're going to pay him 50m plus per season, you have to be able to put the team on his shoulders and know he's going to carry the load. So far, when the pressure is on to get it done, Bryce has fallen miserably short of the target. 4-6 to finish out the season and 0-2 when all we need is a win to secure a playoff spot isn't stepping up and proving yourself as a franchise QB. I'd say it's quite the opposite.  There isn't a single coach in this league that would take Bryce over Burrow and very few if any that would take Bryce over Prescott. Hurts didn't have to throw in 2025 because Philly's defense was disgusting and Saquan had a MVP season. But then again, Hurts has shown that he can when it counts, and then there's his signature. Philly runs the tush push to lethal perfection, but that's a play we can't even consider with Bryce. You used 3 QBs from teams that had no defense to show QB stats don't always matter. When we had the worst defense in the NFL, we didn't see Bryce step up and carry the offense and put up gaudy numbers in a losing season because we were playing catch up. It was pretty much the opposite.  What have we seen from Bryce consistently to consider offering him a top 10 NFL franchise QB level contract? At the end of the day, that's all that matters.
    • I mean, what fanbase has high expectations when you have a QB like Bryce leading your team?
    • If you pay Bryce $50M a year you greatly limit your ability to put the type of team around him you need to have to have a chance to win. THAT is the problem. Hell, we can't win with him on a rookie contract. How the hell are we supposed to start winning with him paying him like a franchise QB and having to make tough roster decisions to accommodate his cap hit?
