Jake should start Sunday!

It could be amazing what could happen if Jake plays and whips the Cardinals. It could start a re-emergence and put the team on one of those meteoric shots to the top. These things do happen, as Rothelisberger and the Steelers proved a few years ago.

Or we could get killed and the season would be over. Honestly, short of a miracle, the season is probably a wash now. So what could it hurt to put Jake under center and hope for a miracle?

And there's no better storyline than one about redemption.

The problem I have with Moore is... the chips will be down and how will he deal with it? As far as Jake frustrates me... the guy throws an interception, goes right back in, and throws it again. He isn't phased. You can argue he's hurting us, which he is, but you can also argue that another guy throws a pick, his heart sinks, and he never snaps out of it.

I still feel that we need a backup (a little late to invest in a decent one). Any position, especially QB needs to know there is somebody competing for their job. It forces that person to step up. Getting Vick helped McNabb. It forced him to take his role seriously. Jake can't ever feel threaten as long as we stockpile crap like Matt Moore and David Carr. Even Fox has no faith in these guys... or he would have considered starting them weeks ago. It's like working somewhere, where the guy behind you has no clue how to do your job. I mean, you really have to blow it. I mean, you really REALLY blow it!! Even as bad as Jake is blowing it now, it's only a "maybe" he'll be replaced by Fox. That shows you how pathetic our bench is.

I'm sorry but actually you cannot argue anything that is hypothetical or supposed or hasn't happened yet. Legitimate arguing usually requires facts or precedents.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
