Not expecting him to do well is not the same thing as hoping he doesn't do well.

Its the same thing as not expecting Little to do well because you didn't like what some talking heads said about him and you don't like the guy that drafted him.

If the linemen work out the rest can be busts for all I care. Hurney clearly decided that FS was better addressed outside the draft, everything else is a subjective need. Given the importance of the position I'm fine with QB being highest priority in terms in depth. Miller would have been a fine 3rd round pick and we were fortunate enough to get him and Grier. Shrewd draft on Hurney's part.

I believe my quote about drafting Cam was something along the lines of, "Biggest mistake in franchise history." Turns out, having an opinion that is wrong isn't that bad. It's kind of funny to see people work themselves up into a furor over their personal evaluations of a player to the point where they are wishing bad things on their team or players. I don't think Grier will be an NFL caliber QB. I don't think Little will be an NFL quality starting LT. Damn sure doesn't make me want to wish they do poorly. People are funny the way they need to be right more than be happy.

If you were wrong and owned up to that then more power to you.

I was nervous about the pick, but after watching Cam play, I knew he was the only chance this franchise had at any kind of success or relevancy.

Much of what you've mentioned is why I've disconnected quite a bit from the draft and all that. Kids coming out of college get grown men hating on them before they can even blink their eyes in an NFL uniform. In general sports fans these days are just nuts.

I was still in a bit of an outdated mode of assuming that all of those gimmicky college offense players didn't translate well to a "pro-style system." The reality is that the NFL is becoming more like college in that regard. I also HATED Auburn, so that definitely hampered me being able to make an honest assessment.

Yeah, the general trollish/extreme behavior is just a product of society in general. I don't inherently have a tremendous amount of butthurt over it but the problem is that all the trolls/zealots get the 80% of fans that are capable of reasonable thought and discussion overly worked up. People start choosing sides and drawing battle lines. I get that on the internet, it's always been that way to an extent. It bothers me a lot more when I see that mentality spill out to the "real world." That is where I have a big problem.
