After the Chicago game, most were falling all over themselves talking about the progression of Allen and the resiliency of Grier.  The following week, those same folks can't possibly fathom seeing either one even near the field.

Well yeah, everyone on here is reactionary as hell

No, figure out a way to get Webb back from Huston. Webb’s value overall and his knowledge of our offense(cam) makes him way more valuable to this team then Kaep could ever dream to be. Especially since I’d put money on Kaep is turning anything down but a starter spot at this point.

Honestly, I’d trade them Grier and a 3 round to get Webb back. Get rid of Allen and Henieke(sp?). But Hurney is an idiot and won’t try for that.

No thanks the Webb experiment didn't work out too well. It's also possible Eric Reid can talk him into a backup role since they are good friends. He is a more than capable starter and this would also give him a chance to show what he has left in the tank in case he wants to start for another team next year kinda like how Foles did in Philly.

No.  He can't.

Joe Webb is a 10 year veteran who has thrown a grand total of 159 passes in his entire career.  If Joe Webb was an player capable of taking a team to the playoffs, he would have gotten a chance long before now.  This is the same Joe Webb who could not beat out the dynamic duo of Nathan Peterman and Tyrod Taylor for a starting job on a team that went 9-7 and made the playoffs.

Joe Webb is a great story, but a poor QB.

If you watched him play in our scheme. He balled out. There’s a reason Huston gave him the money. He’s like cam lite. You don’t see him making the dumb decisions that our 2-3 made on Friday though.

Lol I love Joe Webb but no. I remember when he balled out in the fourth preseason game against fourth-stringers and even then he didn't lead a touchdown drive. He had some good preseason games in 2015 against fourth-stringers, but a 31-year-old WR/QB is not the answer to the backup QB situation here man.

I don’t want Kaep here. End of story(this has nothing to do with the social/kneeling aspect). This has everything to do with how his play dropped off and the locker room reports/interviews, etc sent him from 1st string top paid QB(mostly incentive based) in the league to third string.

But more overly I don’t think any locker room could take Cam and Kaep in the same space. If Cam said it’s all good come on and back me up. I’d say give him a shot.

Webb could float this team easily however, he’s Cam Lite that can play Special teams and not make stupid plays as QB,

Mmm, maybe I’m just being optimistic about Cam this season. *fingers crossed* no further injuries.

Allen's performance to date has been very good.  I don't get the 180 on him because of play in 1 preseason game.

and Grier as a passer looks no worse than Cam in his first preseason.

I mean, I do think we need to watch Allen.  But if he goes right back to what he has been for us? I'm fine w/ him as the 2019 backup.

Interesting. So his play dropped below Joe Webb's? Please provide data to back up your statement. Also, How do you know if they would get along or not?

It's just haters. Look for the vitriol to be worse later this week.

Kaep hasn't player meaningful football in years. The knock was he was a one read and run kind of quarterback. Didn't he want like 15-20 million and wanted to be the starter not the backup. In what world would he be a good option for us.

I mean Kyle Allen is making what 500K? CK would be a great option if he was taking what we are currently spending on a backup to Cam.

the biggest issue today (can't do anything about the past really in terms of football).....is CK would have to come back in the league as a true backup.  He isn't willing to do that.   So that is that.   Not suggesting he take Allen money but he would have to be willing to take on a real vet backup role w/ that type pay.
