As much as I don't like Hurney you can't say this team doesn't have talent. Even the team campaigning for Grier who isn't ready to help is on the coaching staff.

I truly believe that is the crux of the problem around here. Folks actually thought this might be our year. And then we get this. Kaboom. All hell reigns down.

In my head? Really?

Wow.

The guy who said you're being a condescending prick is right. I guess that makes you feel good (which doesn't exactly say a lot for you).

There are a few things I find less convincing of superior intelligence than someone having to tell me that they have it. I would have expected better, but it's pretty clear my expectations were a little too high.

I'll remember to lower them in the future.

There you go. That is the passive aggressive Scotty we all know and tolerate. LOL

I love these, I'll show you replies. Just proves my point on how entertaining this place can be. Throwing in that "Condescending Prick" line was a nice touch.

It used to take you 4-5 pages before you would get called a condescending prick. Now about half that. I would say the boards changing for the better.

Maybe if the sunshine pumpers hadn’t attacked any word that suggested we had issues on the team, there wouldn’t be as much backlash.

The problem with our talent as well is that it's loaded to the defense. Who can't generate pressure and can't cause turnovers. That's supposed to be Rivera's bread and butter. You can't blame the offense when teams score an average of 20 ppg or more. It would be different if we lost 14-3 but we're not.

Riiiight :eyeroll:

See, I've never been one to start threads about myself. If I start a discussion, it's about football.

You started this thread specifically to brag to everybody about how much better you are than them. I called you on it because I thought you were capable of better than that. You're pretty clearly showing me I was wrong in that belief.

Narcissism is boring, so... nevermind.

Not bad. But I just don't believe it. Can you try again? Maybe put a little more heart into it. I just ain't feeling it. lol

Not sure I agree with that. There is a load of talent on the Offense. High draft picks abound. Whether is is truly  Cam, or Norv being outdated, or the Oline being used improperly? Whatever it is. We can move the ball. We just had one heck of a time scoring last week.

I mean, 9 trips insided TB territory. And we got 4 flipping FGs. WTF?

This is your 6th repy, and you have yet to discuss anything football related. Naw, I ain't in your head. LOL

We just lost a game because the line could not protect Cam and not a single player stepped up. Also our defense could not pressure Winston and could not create turnovers. How do you have 4 first round picks on the Dline and 3 first round picks in the secondary and not shutdown a sub. 500 team. Coaching that's how.

It is hard to argue that point. Let's just agree there is plenty of talent on this team. Too much talent to play this poorly.

That is the one thing we could always count on for a RR coached team. They were disciplined. That seems to be missing right now.

This is absolutely true. We had the most expensive D line in foot ball, B Burns, everyone said Cam was 100%, our #1 and #2 WR were legit, etc. And then Buffalo came to town and reality started to sink in.

Some saw it immediately, some are still in denial.

Ultimately, there seems to be two kinds of fans here. Those that came here after 2015 and have been expecting to see that again and those that know it’s unlikely to see a SB run anytime soon and are ok with just winning the division and getting to the playoffs.

The disappointment of the first camp is what you are seeing.

    • Give me Anthony Hill Jr or give me death
    • We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that
    • There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
