Unsung Heroes

Shaq was everywhere on defense. He is definitely proving the doubters wrong. The guy is thriving and we're lucky to have him.

Jarius Wright made a couple of key catches.

Paradis did a good job calling protections and Allen always seemed to be moving in the right ways to help it. Good teamwork between the two.

Ray Ray busted a big one, too bad it got called back. I like the guy and I think he's going to be good.

Joey Slye is the real deal. Great story and great leg.

And tempo was outstanding. We were playing like we always knew what the play was, got out of the huddles quickly and executed well. Not too shabby for a young QB in his second start ever. I think he must have Norv's system down pat.

Yeah, and to be fair that second one especially was a horrible throw.

He's exploitable on run defense. That's a problem.

What!?!?

That second INT was one of the most amazing INT's we're like to see this SEASON.  The "highlight" television angle doesn't show at all what a great play that was.  Donte was entering Michael Jordan territory to get up and pull that down.  Cam could only dream that KB / Funch had that kind of vertical.

Surely  you mean the first INT.

The point about the run defense tho . . . yea, the complete WHIFF when he had a chance to stop Johnson for a loss near the goal line was just plain bad.

Jackson: dude is like a freaking roller coaster. He’ll whiff on a tackle or lose his man in coverage and then the next play he’s stopping a guy for no gain or getting an interception. Dude needs to level out.

Lots of people here we’re talking trash about GVR, but he’s a decent guard.

Little: when given the reps and adequate time to get comfortable playing against NFL caliber ends I think he’s going to be very good.. maybe better than Gross

Williams: straight up trash at LT

Olsen: yeh, let’s talk about Olsen. The guy everyone said was washed up, needed to go to the booth.

Gross was damn good, so you give Little high praise--however, if you look at his measurables (hand size, arm length, etc.) he is a monster.  The only thing we need is for the light to come on upstairs and some muscle...Jackson is high risk, high reward, for sure....GVR is a good pulling guard.  They really did not attack that side like they should have.  Just as Cam has recently made Olsen look bad, Allen made him look good.  He was open, and that is something.  But if you put the ball where Olsen can catch it---especially if you hit him in stride--he is a stud.

Let us not forget CURTIS SAMUEL had 2 insanely critical completions on third down.

One being his touchdown after Kyle had to scramble out of pocket and the other being his toe dance on the sideline.  Kyle threw two beauties but both plays took proper execution and separation along with critical in-bounds awareness by Curtis.

Salud Samuel.

He also had a key block on the Moore TD, and opened up Olsen on one of his TD's by pulling the safety into coverage. Or at least thats how I remember it.

    • PFF feeds the beast.  So it’s largely popular for that IMO and is embraced by the NFL machine because it helps feed the beast.  Thats why you see the cute stats pop on the Monday Night football screen lol.  Hot takes? Fantasy football? Yeah, it’s good for the NFL machine for lots of reason.  I do think the league embraces them.  Not because they are actually good at doing what they claim. actual analytics folks are critical of PFF.  Because it’s not analytics.  It’s subjective goobly goo ratings by dudes that aren’t really qualified nor even have the info to do real grading.  you got legit NFL players who say they have literally put PFF grades by the coaches grades and they are worlds apart.  Players have laughed at them pretending they can grade certain plays without the underlining info.  NFL coaches have called out there bologna at pressers.   could it be a quick tool to find out some info that has nothing to with their subjective grades? Sure.  There is a lot of data on 32 teams for cheap. But I do not buy the narrative 32 NFL teams think their grades are worth a poo or remotely accurate or meaningful.
    • Bills D looks like ass
    • I think that win vs Dallas gave them a big boost of confidence.  Thats a team that blew us out the past 2 seasons. Even when Bryce was playing okay late last season they still beat us pretty bad.  Lets see if we slaughter the Jets or go back to playing sloppy uninspired football and go from there.
