if you are your stats he has the 4th best qb rating in the league.   feast on that.  mmmmmm.  baby goat, baby goat do do do do do

Don't just be selective though. His yards, completion %, QBR and Rating have gone down every single week he has been a started. It was a huge boon to play the Cardinals who have yet to keep a QB below a 100 passer rating. Allen is 13th in adjusted rating and that seems perfectly fine with me.

Okay...now.

QB1: Andrew Luck
QB2: Baker Mayfield
QB3: Cam Newton
QB4: Jake Delhomme
QB5: Josh Allen
QB6: Kurt Warner
QB7: Mark Sanchez
QB8: Peyton Manning
QB9: Tom Brady
QB10: Tony Romo

I've included three or four undrafted QBs because Allen was undrafted, but also some high picks for balance.

Was originally gonna include Jimmy Clausen but the decision to use two years worth of stats knocked that out (9 and 9, for the curious).

In an ideal world we would find QBs where the first two years of their career they were carried by run heavy offenses. Brady looks like the only one on the list like that from the above. Big Ben and the Steelers were very run heavy as well. Might have been a good idea to include him.

Well, to be clear, the idea wasn't necessarily to find a bunch of guys just like him but more to look at the experiences of several quarterbacks with different profiles; some similar, some not.

So I guess my question is.  What are we supposed to do with this information?  We can't compare it to Allen because he hasn't played 2 years.  We apparently can't estimate what Allen's production in those areas will be based on his play so far.

So we can't compare anything to Allen.  I guess I just don't know how I should use the information provided to draw any conclusion.  I mean..I find it telling that we need 2 year stats to make Allen's fumbles over 3 games not look that horrible.

And one quick thing, not necessarily related to this thread but something I've seen in the general debate...

Can we stop treating the term "game manager" as if it were an insult?

Every quarterback is a "game manager" and being proficient at it is a damn good skill to have.

If you want to say a guy is nothing special, just say that. But "game manager" should not be synonymous with "nothing special".

You got that right.

Tom Brady and Russell Wilson are synonymous with "game manager".....sign me up for some of that.

Full list updated today w/ exception of the MNF game that is being played now.

Allen's overall rating is still probationary until he has at least 5-games under his belt...but he's building a solid base.

Original Poster, good work, like the analysis/comparison.

I probably should have looked up Wilson's stats. He'd have been a good one to include.

You can compare anything you want to. What I pointed out is how inaccurate projections tend to be, particularly in the case of Allen's current interception stats.

if your project out his fumbles, are you also going to project out zero interceptions on the season?

Much as I'd love to see that, I have a hard time buying it.
