When you’re on the field as much as CMC is I can see how it can happen. Doubt he can do it an entire season, hopefully the staff realizes this as well and rests him

I've said it before but CMC was underrated because he was a small dude who looked more like a slot receiver not for being white. The only shifty RB's drafted as high as him in recent memory are like CJ Spiller (who's freakishly jacked) and Reggie Bush. Neither of which lived up to their draft position. Look at Barkley, Gurley, Fournette, Elliot; every RB that isn't a huge monster dude is lucky to go in the first round.

Gurley is on a rather small snap count and his backups have been serviceable enough to carry a portion of the needed load. Elliott hasn't been relied on as much with Dak actually looking the part of a NFL quarterback lately. 

Plus, neither are quite the receiver that CMC is. Kamara is the closest guy you could really compare to him in terms of how they're used.

Remember when people questioned this pick, said he was just a slot WR/return specialist, couldn't run between the tackles, couldn't handle carrying the load in the NFL, was being force fed, was the reason we were losing games, etc?

Part of me wonders if those individuals just love the taste of sack & vinegar, because that's a hard committment to getting nuts in their mouth every time it's opened.
