HYPOTHETICAL Cam Trades Thread

Since the rumor mill keeps churning up that we may attempt to trade Cam, I have a few questions for people to discuss.

  • What is the minimum you would want in return(what round picks, type of players, etc)?
  • What is the ideal result(picks, players, etc)?
  • What are the likely destinations and/or teams interested?
  • What are the teams you would absolutely NOT want to see him get traded to?

When you're looking at potential destinations, you have to consider the system.

Everybody talks about Chicago, but Chicago is running an Andy Reid style West Coast Offense. Is that really the best fit?

True but you have to consider that if you are planning on making that move, you don't try and pound an extremely expensive square peg into a round hole.

When the trade stuff started my initial gut was a 1st and a 2nd. Looking at historical trades that may be aggressive. Drew Bledsoe went for a 1st. Sam Bradford went for a 1st and a 4th. Garrapolo went for a 2nd. Carson Palmer went for a 1st and a 2nd. Craig Erickson went for a 1st. So hopefully a 1st but realistically it may be a 2nd and a 3rd.

I would take picks and have no idea what players would be realistic.

Chicago, Denver, Buffalo, Miami, Cleveland.

No NFC South or Patriots.

    • this would be a horrible mistake but sounds like a panther type move
    • QB Trey Lance still runs fast, showcasing significant speed in games. While he was clocked at an elite 21.54 mph in college, suggesting high top-end speed, his college tape also indicated a tendency to seek contact and not slide, which were red flags to some evaluators, according to Reddit users. His running ability in the NFL has been highlighted in plays where he gains significant yardage and scores touchdowns, even when escaping pressure.
    • Come on, why don't we go get another short ass QB?  At least this one is an elite athlete with an actual cannon of an arm.  Still, hell no to it. We need a big guy back there.
