Eric Reid spoke to Tepper about Kaepernick last week

The teams that will attend the Colin Kaepernick workout session will see what he has to offer but the guy is 32 years old and many teams won't want a player this age(he is no Tom Brady). After all is said and done if nobody signs him to a contract the media will explode with Kaepernick not being given a chance to play in the NFL again and his agent(lunatic brainwashing girlfriend) will possibly encourage him to start lawsuits rolling against the NFL for not signing him.

And when he IS signed by the Panthers, your head will explode, saving us all from your terrible takes.

That is a very unfair characterisation. I highly doubt our team would give him an extension and our players accept him if he was that selfish. You know he is putting the work in or he would be on the bench or unemployed.

All that being saaaaid......he is also our weakest link in coverage.

I never said he was selfish and wasn't trying. I just said he works harder on politics than playing the game. You can't have two passions and his is social justice. Like I said before, I want a super bowl and I want players committing all their efforts to that and not other things. That's me being selfish but I'm a fan and can do that. It's a past time for me. Just like campaigning for Kap. Yeah I get it's his friend but Kap isn't going to help us and it would hurt Allen if he was on this team. I want Allen to succeed because I want the Panthers to and I know he's working his butt off and has zero interest anywhere else.

We don't know that he works more on his political activism than his football skills. People can be passionate about hobbies, interests, causes, etc and still be good at their jobs.

His activism may be visible but we know nothing about his hours spent reviewing tape, working out, practicing, etc, etc. All those things are hidden aspects of being a professional football player.

Critiquing his on field performances I can understand but drawing a direct line from his activism and his passion for his profession are unfair, IMO. We aren't there with these guys on a day in and day out basis to know who is putting in the time and effort and who isn't.

I think your missing my point. I'm not saying he's not trying or working hard. It's been said he's taken a leadership role and you saw that on all or nothing. You saw he works hard. I'm just saying it's not his passion. Tom Bradys passion is football, Drew Brees passion is football. Does that make everyone else out there slackers? No, it just means those guys live and breathe it. Came Newton is a perfect example of that. He was willing to work through excruciating pain just to play because he loves the game. Even when asked about social justice he said my mind is on football. Does that mean he doesn't care about social justice? No, it just means he is more passionate about Football and that's why he doesn't want to talk about it. That's all I'm saying and I'm not trashing Reid.

“It was to signify black power,” Newton said after the game
