You could always think of it as a villain redeeming himself.

All I care about is wins and championships, I don't care who the coach is. One's saying if it's McDaniels they won't care about watching are not true fans and I say hit the door bitchssss!

I won't watch if McDaniel is our coach and if you want to call me not a true fan, here is my response:

Integrity is more important to me than being a "true fan" in your eyes. I have watched almost every game this team has ever played and have stuck with them through thick and thin, but I will not cheer for a team led by a man I know doesn't respect the integrity of the game enough to stay away from shady poo everyone knows is cheating.  I've condemned those actions when he was part of another team, and I will not debase myself to committing the hypocrisy of now cheering for him just to meet you or anyone else's definition of being a "true fan".

IMO being a true fan also involves expecting your team to conduct itself in an above board manner.

with you 100%, and by god if you go below board - you can't be stupid enough to get caught.  i can't support that either.

I get that. That's why I started a thread on that particular topic.

For me though, I doubt it'll put me off. I might feel like I'm holding my nose a little, but I'd still be a fan.

The kind of thing it would take for me to renounce my Panther fanhood would be something real life, something along the lines of the Richardson scandal.

Luckily, that was handled the correct way. If the league had allowed Richardson to conduct an "internal investigation" like he wanted to, that would have made it much tougher to stomach.

On an off note, I wonder if Bill Cowher would make for a good GM. I wonder...

Peter King talked about that recently. Said he's seen no indication that Cowher wants to leave the cushy life he has now.

Throw in that David Tepper didn't join the Steelers until well into the Mike Tomlin coaching era, so whether or not he's actually acquainted with Bill Cowher is unknown.
