You don't want your draft pick to peak in college.

Look at Mahomes .. he got better in the pros from what he was in college .. almost every QB is better in the pros than college unless they are busts

Peyton Manning, Eli Manning - better pro QB's than college ..

Russell Wilson - better pro QB than college QB ..

Joe Burrow will definitely worse pro QB than college QB .. Burrow is peaking now, in college ... if you are a NFL team that is not what you want .. you want best years to be ahead of a player.

Struggling compared to his other dominant games, sure. But Hurts plain looks like he doesn't belong on the field when facing top defenses. Big difference.

There is still time and call it garbage time, but he will have some decent stats by game's end.

Stop. Mahomes threw for over 4500 yards as a sophomore. Over 5000 as a junior. Wilson completed nearly 75% of his passes at Wisconsin while throwing 33 TDs vs. 4 INTs.

Burrow is on a much better overall team. That's the biggest difference.

His first year, the same by Florida State (before that program went into a complete nosedive).  Jackson struggled against elite defenses.

Based on this comment, it seems you have not followed Hurts at all until this year. What you are seeing tonight is the reason Hurts lost his starting job at Bama. He’s always a fantastic running threat, but he is simply not a good passer against upper level defensive talent. This was true at Bama, even when he was “not running for his life.” It is just a part of his game that is lacking  

I am an SEC homer, but Hurts’ numbers this year are a complete product of running a Big XII offense against Big XII defenses. I don’t want the Panthers to touch him with a ten foot pole.

Apparently Big XII QBs are hot commodities.  Yes I have followed Hurts from afar and the guy is leaps and bounds better than he was when he first came to Bama.  It's called growing.  I'd rather have a guy that can demonstrate growth than peak in college.

He'll never live up to the hype. Burrow is the classic example of great college player, bad pro.

Nobody has ever expected a Qb to throw 8 tds in the NFL

Borrow isn't even hyped up that much

Andrew Luck now that was hyped
