For those who cannot understand how/why Hurndog is still the GM --- this is the answer.

Or have proper football acumen to make proper decisions. New owner with no pro sports experience.

New owner as a minority owner of the Steelers for almost a decade. Since he obviously planned to eventually own his own franchise, it’s reasonable to infer he didn’t spend that time twiddling his thumbs.

Billionaire does not mean you are smarter than everyone else.

Never said it did.

That said, going from $0 to $11bn all on your own is a meaningful indicator of superior intellect.

Tepper posseses intellectual horsepower far superior to me, you, and everyone else who has ever posted on this site.

I have no problem acknowledging this...

...others, they appear to be holding onto a pipe dream.

Self made billionaire is a pretty damn strong argument that you might not be smarter than everyone else, but in certain ways you are smarter than almost everyone.

As the SiL of the guy who made it possible to have the chips to allow me to respond on a phone even thou billionaires on the board at IBM tried to shut that project down...

That's the key.

Yes the caveat is Tepper is smart but there is no guarantee his skill set in running a hedge fund transfers to running an NFL team, but it does imply his chances of success are better than most. Spending a decade as a minority owner also is reassuring because it implies he studied for his future position and industry.

Oh yeah. I just disagree with the OP because keeping someone in charge of an investment this size, with a history of "wtf" since you took ownership of said investment, based on "I'll do better, swearses realses." is more inline with hubris than intelligence.

No.

Marty Hurney is one of the best recognizers of college talent in the nation. Period, OK,” Tepper said. “I don’t want to lose that. And he’s also not a bad manager.”

Does that sound smart after looking at this roster?Or remembering signing 2rb to massvie deals. Or trading away future picks for some people that would have most likely been there later.
